Unhappy campers: day two
~>~Waking up to a face right next to your own was something that you thought would never happened.
Moxxine shifted slightly in her spot, nuzzling closer to you her expensive perfumes wafted into the air, filling your senses as the sun slowly came up.
Birds happily chipped as the morning announcement came on blaring throughout the camp.
"Good morning, happy campers! It is currently 8'o clock and today is gonna be nothing but sunshine!"
The campers groaned as loud music bopped through the camping ground. Waking them from their slumber,
"... Moxxine.... Moxxine it's time to get up..." You whisper softly, gently nudging her shoulder as the camp guards kicked in other campers doors, dragging them out into daylight.
"Ghn... Nooo..." She whines softly, nuzzling closer to your form as footsteps approached your secluded cabin. Their voices muffled as they laughed jauntily, unaware of the situation you were in.
Frantically out of instinct your hands shot out, shoving moxxine onto the floor as the cabin door kicked open. Hitting the wood wall as it did so.
"We're up!" You announced loudly, hoping out of bed and pulling moxxine up next to you.
"Well, then move your butts!" The camp counselor announced loudly, stepping aside to let the both of yous out.
The sun was bright and everybody moved sluggish towards the cafeteria. You followed the rest, moving past the crowd that surrounded Millard, all you needed was something quick to eat. Like an apple or pear, something small and quick.
Moxxine followed behind you closely, looking sadder and sadder the more she lingered around her brother. You finally grabbed an apple, handing moxxine a tray of various fruits and and a glass of water.
Today was canoeing, each of yous would pair up with your bunk mates and choose a canoe of your choice. You'd get two paddles, one for the person in front and for the other in back.
Moxxine yawns softly, her nails gently tapping against the bench table as she tossed a raspberry into her mouth. "So, what're we doing today?"
She questioned softly, putting her hair back up into two pig tails. "Well, yesterday was volleyball, today is canoeing and tonight I'm pretty sure is the music festival. Anybody can sign up." You shrug, biting into the pear you snagged before they were all gone.
Moxxine perked up at the canoeing part. "You mean that shack next to here?" She questions, leaning in.
You nod, "yeah, one of our camp counselors goes there daily to clean the sides of the canoes and repair any damages made to them." You motion over to a teen a bit older than you, his hair is brown and short, his glasses nearly rolling off his nose as he nervously smiled.
Moxxine grins, nodding as she listened to you.
Moxxie couldn't believe it. How he actually enjoyed having a conversation with someone who could relate to him, sure, he had originally thought about killing you after finding you suspicious but all that's changed.
Millie would absolutely adore you, yu were funny, kind and serious when you needed to be, and you were vary knowledgeable.
His mood dampened at the thought of Millie, his eyes wondering off to the side to see Millie surrounded by teens and other kids, bitter jealousy nipped at him with sharp teeth as he sucked in a breath looking away.
~>~Moxxine follows you out, her hand tightly holding yours. You both made your way to the canoes, letting moxxine pick out one that was her favorite color, which led her to picking out a red one. Everybody got into the canoes with their partners.
Moxxine got the hang of rowing, having a big smile on her face as you both got closer to the finish line, only to be capsized over by Millard, you swam up quickly, a frown on your lips as you watch moxxine fume in anger.
You both pushed your canoe back to the finish line, covered in water.
Moxxie leaves your side, stopping towards Millie before pulling her behind a cabin.
"You could've hurt y/n!" Moxxie started angerily, rinsing out his skirt as Millie frowns, "but I didn't, and besides a lil' water never hurt anybody."
Moxxie shakes his head, "no. Humans can't breathe underwater for long Millie, you could've killed her-" Millie stops him, holding her hand up.
"Why do you care so much about her? She just a human." Moxxie gasps out in shock, "she's not just a human Millie, she's my friend! You'd understand if you actually had one and not a million because they're all disposable to you."
He turns away from Millie, his pride hurt tears welling up in his eyes as he leaves, fixing his make up quickly as he approaches you with a towel.
Millie frowns, clenching her fist as she watched the interaction between you and moxxie.
