Like a river runs
-----------------------------------------------------------
I woke up thinking you were still here
My hands shaking with regret
I've held this dream for such a long, long time
And I wanna get up
To the rhythm of a wild, to the rhythm of a wild heart
That beats, that beats like a rolling drumWaking up in a cold sweat, your lips parted. Cheeks stained with hot tears as you stared at the mangled corpse of husk. The ground covered in his crimson blood, eyes glazed over with mist, staring into the red sky.
Charlie standing above him, her eyes deranged, a crazed smile on her pale white face. Hands shaking with a sharp knife, her outfit covered in crimson blood.
Eyes snapping open, you sat straight up. Your hair sticking to the side of your head framing your face.
Standing up shakily you left your room, Charlie had left a long time ago. Leaving the hotel in the care of vaggie.
I saw you standing on the corner
I saw you standing on your own
And I get the feeling that it's, it's all a dream
And I wanna get up
To the rhythm of a wild, to the rhythm of a wild heart
That beats, that beats that like a drumAlastor, niffty and vaggie avoided you like the black plague. The room becoming quiet when you were in it. From the corner of your eye you could swear you saw husk, his pale ghostly figure standing out of view.
A soft smile on his face as you went about your day around the hotel.
When I fall asleep I can see your face
What I lost in you I will not replace
And I could run away, I could let them down
But I will remember your lightPicking up a full garbage bag you shuffled outside, the sinners of hell avoiding you at all costs. The only person who bothered with you was angel dust.
A ghostly hand placed itself upon your shoulder, Turing you in the direction of an alley. At the vary end of the alley was a soft pink glow.
Looking back you watched as the ghostly figure of husk floated down the alley, stopping at the end waiting for you.
Your light follows me in darkness
I'm trying hard but I can't win
And I've played the victim for a long long time
And I wanna grow up
From the rhythm of a young, from the rhythm of a young heart
It leads just like a river runsSighing you chucked the bag into a dumpster, running down the alley way. Husk's figure disappearing as you made it to the end, at the vary end was an open door that led to an abandoned building. The place decorated in pink fluffy stuff.
That night I sent over the parkway
The summer's gone and I'm alone
And I get the feeling that you're somewhere close
And I wanna get up
To the rhythm of your wild, to the rhythm of your wild heart
It beats, been beating since you've goneAngel dust was onto of an old couch, smoking a cigarette. Fat nuggets on his lap, pushing through the the door your hands were stuffed back down into your pockets. Angel dust perking up at the sight of you.
He hopped off the couch, making his way towards you, a smile on his face as he put out his cigarette.
Soft, long fluffy arms wrapped themselves around you, reminding you of the hugs husk used to give you three years ago before he died.
Husk smiled, closing his eyes he vanished into thin air. Dark wisps flittering through the air.
When I fall asleep I can see your face
What I lost in you I will not replace
And I could run away, I could let them down
But I will rememberAngel dust slowly intertwined his fingers with yours. Pulling you into the quiet building, the place fully furnished and cleaned out properly with the help of niffty.
You still hung onto that little piece of husk, the coat he had worn out on your third date, refusing to let it go. Hurting angel dust's feelings in a way, only letting go with the help of him.
When I fall asleep I can see your face
What I lost in you I will not replace
And I could run away, I could let them down
And I know your gone but still
I will remember your lightAngel dust pulled you into his room, the room dimly lit by candles and fairy lights. He flopped down onto his bed, fat nuggets in his arms, you both moved out seeing no point with being redeemed.
I will remember
I will remember
I will remember
I will rememberYou moved towards the open window, looking at angel dust before at the sky filled with stars.
And if you see me in the darkness
I hope you know I'm not alone
I carry you with every breath I take
I won't let up, I won't let up
Until the wind is goneYou moved on, starting a new life with angel dust. You had no idea where Charlie went, probably somewhere to get some serious help. The hotel was in shambles in you both left, and alastor got exactly what he wanted. The undoing of Charlie and her family.
You smiled, the wind blowing in your hair as you stared up at the stars.
