Maria headed back inside after dropping off ethan to see paxton frustrated at a few guys doing a keg. She walked up to him and pet his shoulder, causing him to turn and smile at her.
"I can't believe they brought a keg" he sighed to himself, watching as the boys lifted trent back onto the ground after he finished his turn. He high-fived the guys and struck a few poses like a model.
"I feel sexy. I just feel sexy you know what I mean?" Maria giggles upon hearing the statement that just came out of his mouth, knowing that he was both high and intoxicated.
"Don't stress too much pax, don't want your gorgeous hair to be ruined by having a little fun? Plus I'm sure devi will have a melt down for you if things get a little too stressful" she smirked and paxton couldn't help but chuckle a little.
"I don't think that'll be necessary, I think I just need to relax, it is a pretty good party isn't it?" Maria nods yes to his question.
"Yeah, devi's already labelled it the 'biggest party of the year', speaking of her where is she?" Maria looked around, trying to spot her.
"She's getting me a shot, I need to loosen up a little apparently" he knew that deep down he really did just need a breather, however he was too scared to admit it. Just then a knock was heard on the door. The two turned around and paxton brushed past her, opening the door. Maria's face turned to shock when she noticed who was at the door.
"Paxton?" She asked with a confused face.
"Lindsay, hey" Maria stood next to him, bringing it upon herself to shyly wave at her.
"Um, a drunk kid called the student hotline and asked for a ride home from the party. Did they call you too?" Just as paxton was about to reply, devi walked out from behind Maria and reached one of the shots towards him.
"Here you go, one shot of-" she was cut short by Maria.
"Apple juice, gosh you really need to sober up" she shook her head and turned to Lindsay.
"Lightweights... I'm only here to chauffeur some of my friends back home so no drinking for me" Lindsay only smiled at her.
"Bye Miss Thompson" Devi spoke as she was pushed away by Maria. As soon as Devi walked away, a drunk kid grabbed onto Maria, wrapping an arm around her shoulder.
"Professor Yoshida-Hall I drank to much at your party" he spoke softly and kind of out of it. Hearing the boys words, Lindsay looked at paxton with horror in her expression.
"Mr. Thompson, does your car have a back seat? I'd like to lie down" he slurred, his head soon turning towards Maria and he attempted to make himself look more attractive by standing up straighter.
"And I'd like to take this one home with me" he spoke, getting really close to maria's face causing her to slightly back away and awkwardly chuckle. For some reason paxton felt uncomfortable about the thought of Maria being touched by this guy, even if he was way out of her league... And probably gay.
"How about we don't touch anyone if we feel uncomfortable, especially Maria" paxton lightly threatened to say the least. He grabbed the boy by the shoulder firmly, not wanting to harm the kid and pulling him away from her, causing him to let go and walk towards her car. Maria looked at him with a grateful smile, making him smile to himself before he was snapped out of it by an angry Lindsay.
"This is your house? You're having a party with all these kids?" She sounded furious, only making Maria step away and walk into the house full of sweaty teenagers in search of her friend so she would take her home.
"It's a funny story you see, I got an oculus recently-" before paxton could resume speaking the guy tumbled down the stairs letting out a pained groan.
"Yeah I can't be here, I gotta go" Lindsay walked away, helping the intoxicated teen into the back seat of her car.
"Lindsay wait-" he felt bad for not being able to say no to a couple of know it all dirt bags.

Maria watched Eric hopelessly flail around in the water like a dog that can't find its stick. She couldn't help but giggle as she found it somewhat amusing. After she found Devi yesterday, paxton stopped her on the way out and asked her to help him train Eric because they both knew that he was gonna be pretty useless without her.
"How was that?" He asked as he finished yet another slow lap.
"We can do better, a lot better" paxton told him in a sympathetic tone. As ethan started the next lap Maria turned to him.
"How do you not lose your patience on this guy?" Paxton only shrugged before he responded.
"Well maybe if I help someone I'll feel a little better about myself... Since I'm a failure and such" Maria looked at him with sorrow. She knew what he gave up because of how a couple of kids treated him.
"Don't be like that pax, you're better than what those stupid college kids thought" she smiled warmly at him, causing him to smile back before they were interrupted.
"Hey babe" ethan came up, hugging Maria by her waist. Paxton's heart sank as she watched the guy hug her like he used to. He looked at Paxton and smirked.
"You don't mind if I watch my girl swim now do you pax?" Paxton gritted his teeth before he spoke.
"It's professor Hall-Yoshida to you and if you're not using the pool or helping at the moment then you can leave" his words sounded harsh and venomous as he made it clear that ethan wasn't welcome. Ethan put his hands up in defence, letting go of Maria and walking out.
