I watched her and Raven on the camera link. He'd sent the text just before he walked into the room. The look of total surrender on her face had me stroking my cock under the desk. The past few weeks had been such a whirlwind for all of us. I desperately wanted some time with her all to myself, and I know that isn't exactly easy. She can't just drop her responsibilities for us. I grinned to myself and picked up my phone.

"Hey, Henshaw! What's up?" Gabe's sassy voice came over the line.

"I need advice for a simple, but romantic night. Something I could throw together in my backyard ideally," I asked.

"Ahhh, the infamous Angel, huh?" he laughed.

"Yeah man, I'm out of my element. I've never dated someone with a kid and I know we can't just skip out for a weekend, but I still want to make her swoon," I chuckled.

"From what the guys said, all of you already make her swoon, but if you're looking for a solo night, then pack a small picnic-style meal, get lots of pillows and blankets, and set up a projector in the backyard for a private movie night. Avoid scary, go for romance, and better yet, find one you can get up and slow dance with. Or just go with the food and music if you want to spend more time talking. Don't overthink it." All of that just rolled out of his mouth as if it were second nature.

"Damn Gabe, explain to me again why you're still single?" I laughed. "Hell, I'd date you if I weren't already taken three times over."

He snorted, "Yeah, yeah. Besides, there may not be a lovely lady in the mix, but I'm far from single. But that's a story for another day."

I laughed, "Alright man, thanks. I appreciate the suggestions. I'll let you know how it went."

"Sounds good. You'll have to bring her out and let the rest of us meet her sometime. Take care," he said then ended the call.

Finally, Friday had arrived.

"Just a few more steps, beautiful," I told her as I led her to the backyard. She'd graciously allowed me to blindfold her, and the guys had agreed to take Violet to a movie. "Okay, just stand there for a minute," I said as I let go of her hands and started the CD player. Then I stepped behind her and undid the blindfold.

"Brandon, this is amazing," she gasped looking around the yard. I had strung up dozens of strands of fairy light and then spaced out candles around the yard. Taking Gabe's advice I'd created a palette of pillows and cushions for us to eat on. I took her hand and pulled her down on the cushions with me then held a strawberry in front of her. Her eyes lit up and she squealed in delight as I placed it in her mouth. The sight of those soft lips around that berry had my mind flashing back.

I cleared my throat and pressed my mouth to hers then asked, "Do you have any clue how sexy you are, baby?" She gave that signature giggle and just kissed me again. Yeah, she knew it.

The sun began to set as we ate, drank cider, and just talked. A slow song came on the player and I stood holding my hand out to her. "Dance with me?" She took my hand and I wrapped her in my arms as we slow danced. She hummed the song, her head on my shoulder. "How are you holding up with everything?"

She sighed, "I'm okay, I guess. It's a lot to process, but the five of you help make it easier. I think I'll feel a lot better when we get that case handled and the cartel away from the law firm."

I tilted her chin up, "I know you want to help, but maybe it's better if you step away from the case. I think you've done more than enough, not to mention North and Silas can handle the Academy side of things. I'll talk to Corey and Raven about it if that's okay?"
