Carmen managed to drag Sam to a party, Jess and Brandon at a study group so they're not there. Miranda tried to talk Carmen out of inviting the boy, but the brunette was persistent and refused to let him say no.

Miranda groans as she plops onto a couch, frowning at the uncomfortable feeling in her stomach.

"Didn't you just request more drinks?" Sam questions, crouching in front of her.

"Fuck off, Coffee Boy." Miranda groans.

"You okay?" Sam laughs.

Miranda quietly moans, rubbing her temples.

"Hey, hey!" Carmen giggles as she rushes over. "I got us shots and some cool fruity drinks another girl and I mixed up. So you want vodka or tequila?"

Miranda vomits, Sam's eyes squeezing shut when he feels it land on his shirt. She groans, her hand covering her mouth after she stops throwing up.

"Ooh." Carmen winces.

"Whoops." Miranda mumbles.

"Okay." Sam mumbles, giving her an annoyed look as she winces. "I'll take her back to the dorm."

"Well, I can take her. I'm not that bad." Carmen says.

"No, Carmen, just-- let me take her. It gives me an excuse to get out of here." Sam says.

"You wanna be alone with her than at a party?" Carmen asks with a small laugh. "Wow. You're warming up."  She chuckles.

"I am not. I still hate both." Sam says, slowly pulling Miranda to her feet.

"Yeah, yeah, yeah." Carmen rolls her eyes. "Here, real quick." She puts the drinks down and then collects Miranda's hair, putting it up into a ponytail. "Just in case more puke comes out."

"Thanks." Miranda mutters.

"Anytime. See you tomorrow." Carmen pats her cheek before going off.

"Come on." Sam grabs the blonde's arm, dragging her out of the house.

"Why do you have to walk me home?" Miranda whines.

"So that you don't end up in a ditch and Jess doesn't kill me." Sam says. "And so I can get out of the party."

"Live a little, Sammy." Miranda remarks.

"I do live. I just... prefer to do it differently." Sam says.

"Yeah, yeah, yeah. Guess you can't drink underage, can you, Mr. Lawyer?" She giggles.

"Would you just shut up and walk? I'd like to get back to my dorm and get your puke off of me." Sam says. "You know, you're two for two."

"So are you." Miranda reminds.

"Trust me, coffee is a lot better than vomit." Sam says.

They get back to the girls' dorm and Sam is walking ahead of Miranda.

"Ooh! Wait." Miranda stops.

"What?" Sam huffs.

"We should play ding dong ditch." She grins.

"Not a chance." Sam shakes his head. "Let's go."

"No. Just-- just one game." Miranda says, still grinning a bit.

"No." Sam gives her a stern parent look.

"Just one--" She starts to make her way to the first door in the hallway.

"No. No, hey." Sam hisses. "No. No, Randi, get your ass back here."

"Don't call me that." Miranda harshly whispers back, going for the door.

"Miranda!" Sam sneers, reaching out to stop her. He grabs the first thing he can, yanking the girl back by her ponytail.

"Ow!" She cries out, hitting him in the chest.

"So-- sorry. Sorry." Sam says.

"Jackass." Miranda mutters, shoving him away from her. "Who the fuck grabs somebody's hair, you psycho?"

"What immature idiot plays ding dong ditch?" Sam retorts.

"I do!" Miranda hisses. "Wait, hey." She frowns, glaring at him.

"Just fucking go." Sam sneers, grabbing her arm and dragging her to her dorm.

"Why are you such a buzzkill?" Miranda groans.

"Cause I'm not in the mood to get into a fight tonight nor do I wanna be with you any longer." Sam says. "Give me your key."

"Why?" Miranda frowns.

"So we can get you into your bed, dumbass." Sam says.

Miranda rolls her eyes, but takes the key out of her pocket, giving it to him. Sam unlocks the door and makes her go in first before following.

"I have clothes here, I'm gonna change now. Throw my other shirt out." Sam says, ripping his jacket off.

"Weirdo." Miranda mumbles, getting on her bed. She curls up a bit and rubs her face out of both pain and tiredness. She glances over, Sam's back to her as he changes shirts. She stares at his back muscles, watching him look for one of the few shirts he keeps here.

Feeling heat raise to her cheeks, Miranda quickly looks away, turning over so she's not facing him. She quietly sighs, shutting her eyes.

Sam quickly gets a clean shirt on and puts his jacket back on, vomit thankfully not getting on it. He turns around and sees Miranda lying in her bed.

"Randi?" He calls, walking over. He leans over a bit to see her face, listening to her even breaths as she sleeps.

Sam sighs, looking around. He grabs the trash can by the desk and takes the bag out before putting it by her bed. He notices the blonde shiver making him look around more.

Grabbing the blanket at the end of the bed, Sam carefully drapes it over her. He stares at her for a few moments, frowning when he feels something different bubble in his chest as he looks at her.

Sam shakes his head, quietly coughing. He writes a quick note for Jess explaining Miranda's situation and then grabs his dirty shirt and leaves.

They get to the restaurant that Jess invited everybody to come to for Sam's birthday.

"We really don't have to do this." Sam tells his girlfriend as Miranda and Brandon walk over, Bella and Carmen already there.

"It's your birthday. You should celebrate. You get cake." Jess says.

"I'm not much of a sugar person, Jess." Sam reminds.

"And that's your first red flag." Miranda remarks, sitting across from him.

"It's not a red flag to be healthy." Sam says.

"Whatever." Miranda mumbles. "He doesn't want it, we can just say it's my birthday. I'll eat all the cake." She smiles.

"Why are you even here?" Sam frowns.

"See, pissing you off makes my day more fun. Even though it probably fucks with your day... which just makes my day even better." She smiles.

"Ditto." Sam gives her an annoyed smile.

After eating dinner, the waiters brought out a cake and sing Sam happy birthday along with the group.

After the song is finally over, Sam blows out the candle, earning applause. The waiters leave and Jess takes the candle out of the cake.

"Happy birthday." She kisses his cheek.

"Thanks." He smiles.

"So, what'd you wish for, Sammy?" Miranda grins at the annoyed expression for the nickname. Sam glares at her, ignoring the skipped heartbeat at seeing her bright smile.

"For somebody to sew your mouth shut so you can never talk again." Sam says, giving her a sardonic smile.

"Can it be a two for one deal?" Miranda asks.

"Okay, guys. Civil. Remember?" Bella cuts in. The two grumble in return.
