(Y/n) smiled as she leaned against Jack's shoulder while slowly eating her cooked rat on a stick. The group fell into silence once they started eating. It wasn't an awkward silence but mostly...a peaceful one. Donkey lay behind the four, softly snoring to himself as he ate himself into a coma.

Jack wasn't too far behind as he felt his eyes start to get heavy. His body continued to push against the females slightly but he always managed to catch himself.

"So," Shrek started as he swallowed a bite of his rat. "What took you two so long to gather sticks?" The female looked up and blushed before looking down.

"We had to travel deeper to find some really nice thick branches," Jack mumbled as he went to take another bite of his food. Fiona hummed as she looked at her sister with a questionable stare.

"So, nothing else happened?"

"No, not really." (Y/n) spoke with a yawn as she turned to gaze at her. Fiona nodded and went back to eating her food, not realizing Shrek had scooted a bit closer to her.

"You know." He whispered catching her attention. "There kinda...cute together." Fiona hummed and smiled as they both looked over seeing the two slowly fall asleep while leaning against one another.

"Well as the oldest siblings...we approve of this right?" Shrek turned towards her and nodded causing her to smile and stare into his eyes.

"Yea, we do." She chuckled and scooted closer towards him making him gulp and look down. "So, we're never gonna bring up what we saw today, we only speak about it for payback if they try to do something." The female placed her hand to her mouth and giggled causing him to stifle his laugh. They soon sighed in contentment and stared at each other lovingly.

"U-uhm well, Princess?" She smiled and tilted her head towards the side. "Y-You...I uhm." She smiled and placed her hand on his knee causing him to blush. "Are...uhm...sigh are you gonna finish that?"

He pointed down towards her stick causing her to look down in surprise before going to slide the rat off not noticing Shrek looking away to scold himself. They soon looked back towards each other, Fiona held out the roasted rodent having him grab ahold of it but decided to place his hand over hers. They both looked up to stare into each other's eyes once more, not realizing that they were moving closer towards each other.

"Wow! What a beautiful sunset right?" Donkey interrupted as he popped his head in between the two causing Fiona to gasp and quickly stand.

"Sunset already?" She quickly walked towards her sister before quickly tapping her awake. "It's sunset." The female who was half asleep gasped and quickly went to stand causing Jack to sit up and look around frantically.

"We'll gentlemen! We bid thee goodnight~" Fiona gave Shrek one last smile before quickly pulling her tired sister along. They soon made their way up the stairs and into the abandoned windmill building and soon out of sight. Shrek sighed and looked down before slumping his back against the ground.

"Why don't you just tell her how you feel?" Shrek shifted his gaze towards the side seeing Jack leaning on his side staring at him tiredly.

"Psh! Are you kidding me? I'm an-"

"I get it your an ogre, she's a Princess. Just shut up about fairytales and give it a try cause who knows." The male groaned as he went to lie on his back, placing one arm under his head while laying the other one over his stomach. "Maybe she'll return your feelings." Donkey scoffed and lay upside down between their heads.

"We don't know for sure Shrek! I say don't risk it."

"Hey Donkey, do you want a real reason not to feel all that great?"
