Capitol civilians waved and cheered for the tributes as they rode through the streets of Panem. The Capitol's anthem echoed across the vicinity, sounding as though music came from the sky. Kylo watched as hundreds of people clapped and shouted his name from the stands.

"I feel like I'm going to throw up." He whispered in Mallory's ear.

"Don't," Mallory looked at him, her eyes slightly widened, "they've got cameras on all angles of us. The last thing you need to do is make an impression by hurling all over our clothes."

Kylo nodded in agreement with the Evan's girl, gulping at nothing. He felt the dry, July air, nip at his face as they closed in on a small area of the city that was lined with bleachers. Towards the end of the street, there were screens that showed several men, including one who he knew as Coriolanus Snow-- otherwise known as President Snow, the President of Panem.

His anxiety pooled at his stomach once again.

"Kylo," He heard Mallory say, "is that-"

"President Snow." He said.

Now, the Odair boy noticed Mallory's confidence suddenly falter. Before she was composed and held her head high with her chest puffed, now she looked almost as though she had seen a ghost. It was one thing to present yourself to people who had little to no influence but it was another to present yourself to the most powerful person on the planet.

Kylo looked up to see the screens now showing the tributes from each district, not in any particular order. He hastily forced a smile on his face as he waved to the crowds, hearing some people shout his name as their chariot passed them.

The boy suddenly heard the crowd erupt even louder, screaming Katniss and Peeta's names. His eyes traveled to the screen and he saw the pair with what looked to be flames coming from their bodies.

"Mallory look." Kylo nudged the girl, bringing her back to reality.

The brown haired girl looked at the screen, a confused look on her usually knowing face, "Are- are they on fire?"

"I... Think they are?" He with slight confusion.

Mallory looked around, waving as they began to circle at the end of the street, "How is that possible? I can't tell-- do they look like they're in pain?"

"No." Kylo said, scanning Peeta's face, "Just nervous."

He watched as Peeta looked at Katniss for a moment before grabbing her hand. The girl stared at him for a moment before he mumbled something to her, followed by her then taking his hand. The crowds screamed louder as the pair then lifted their interwind hands above them, showing the people.

Kylo felt his lunch threaten to resurface. He didn't know why, but something about them showing that kind of affection made his stomach ache. He looked towards the viewers while he couldn't help but feel embarrassed at his confusing emotions.
