"When you said you were good at painting, I didn't think you meant this good." Kylo said as he walked up to Peeta.

The brown eyed boy looked up to see the other, a smile growing on his face. He set the paint brush down and lifted his arm, showing off the tree bark design he painted onto his skin. Kylo studied it for a moment before looking back at Peeta.

"Hello to you too." He greeted with a grin, "Yeah, painting cakes are one thing, but I've never had to paint on skin before. I'm hoping it doesn't look bad."

"It looks amazing." He told him.

"Let's test it out." Peeta said while walking over to a false-tree and putting his arm on it.

Kylo watched his arm blend into the tree bark. Peeta's smile returned to his face, clearly proud of his hard work. The Odair watched as he then beckoned him back to the paint table.

"Here, let me see your hand." Peeta said, holding out his own.

Kylo felt a light tingle shoot up his arm as Peeta grabbed his hand and placed it gently on the table. Peeta put his left hand on his wrist to still his arm while his right began messing with various paint materials. He mixed different shades of blues, browns, and grays together before grabbing his paint brush.

"What are you doing?" Kylo asked him.

"Practicing." He told him, while beginning his artwork "I'm not going to tell you what I'm painting though. It's a surprise."

Kylo let out a small laugh, "Okay."

The Odair boy watched as Peeta began outlining his arm in light gray. He studied the boy's focused eyes as he worked on his hand.

"I like your bracelet."

"Oh," Kylo snapped back to reality, "Thank you. Finnick gave it to me before the Reaping in Four."

"Did he make it himself?"

He thought for a moment, "I'm not sure. He said that it helped him through the Games and that he wanted me to have it. I think he was trying to distract me. He knew I was panicking about going."

"That was nice of him." Peeta said, now blending in blues, blacks, and dark grays, "I have a brother who works in the mines. Sometimes he'd bring me back cool rocks— geodes, he'd call them— and I used to collect them."

"That sounds nice. Did he not want to work with you guys?"

"It was." He began to explain, "When the bakery got less busy and the mines collapsed, he got a job there. They needed more miners and we didn't need as many people working."

Kylo frowned, "I've heard a lot of rumors about District Twelve... Is it really as bad as people say it is?"

Peeta hummed and explained, "It is for a lot of people. My family has always been pretty lucky, since we own the bakery and have a reliable source of income, but that's not how it is for most people. A lot of people have to sell things like clothes or homemade items so they don't starve. Even though it's illegal, some people hunt because if they don't they won't survive."
