Chapter 9

"Right you lot. Less chattering. Form a group over there" he instructed pointing towards a pile of rocks that were collected by a wall that seemed to have been knocked down some. "And open your books to page 49" he said as we all looked at the furry book, had black beefy eyes, and some finger like movements on the side of the book where the pages were, bounded in leather. "And how exactly do we do that?" Draco yelled asking everyone's question. "Just stroke the spine of course" hagrid through his arms in the air as if it was a dumb question, he wondered off as the students all set there books down on rocks, Neville opening his book, than getting attacked by the book.

"I think they're funny" Hermione said looking at the group as haley already had the book opened flipping through the pages but the other three didn't bare to do it yet. "Oh yeah. Terribly funny" Draco laughed causing everyone to look at him. "Really witty. God, this place has gone to the dogs. Wait until my father hears Dumbledore's got this oaf teaching classes" he shook his head as haley raised a brow. His smaller, yet not so small, buddies laughed as Harry stepped towards him. "Shut up Malfoy" he spoke as they all Oooh'ed at him.

Draco took his bag off his shoulder, handing it to the closest one next to him as he took it, Draco walked up towards Harry looking him up and down. "Aye...you gay?" Haley asked causing everyone to stop. "What did you just say to me" Draco said as haley chuckled. "Uhm, I asked. If you were gay. Looking Harry up and down like you want some. But hey. It's all good ya know. 2023 and all, be whoever you wanna be" haley shrugged going back to the book. "DEMENTOR DEMENTOR" Draco yelled causing them all to turn around and look for one, Draco's goons laughing as they flipped the hoods of the robes up, wiggling their fingers Ooohing at Harry. "Wow. That was like super clever. But you never answered the question" Haley asked as Draco scoffed at her.

Hagrid cleared his throat getting everyone's attention. "Dun da da dun" Hagrid announced as everyone looked at the creature that was approaching towards them. Everyone gasped as Haley's eyes went wide. "Wow" haley mumbled. "You know what that thing is" Hermione asked. "I work for a man who has magical creatures. To ride one of those.ahh. Would be amazing" haley sighed. Hermione went back to looking at Hagrid as haley felt someone standing behind her. She chuckled knowing it only had to be him. "That wasn't funny" she heard Draco whisper. "Are you finally going to answer my question?" Haley asked smiling. "Of course I'm not" he spat.

"Oh but you could just be putting on a front so no one thinks that you are but you really are" haley smiled. "Well, we're going to be going into that small village soon as a school trip, maybe you should come with me. Ya know. Heard there's a little place that has good food." He whispered again. "Yeah okay sure I'm trying to listen about the animal. I don't know if you were listening. His names buckbeak. He's a hippogriff" haley smiled as she turned back around. "Now who would like to come say hello" Hagrid asked as haley felt a hand on her back, pushing her some towards the front, she looked around and saw everyone moving towards the back. She looked to her left seeing Harry. He looked at haley, than turned around quickly.

"Ah. Harry and miss granger. Well, only one of you is gonna have to go first. Than the other so decided" Hagrid said placing his hands on his hips. Haley smiled at Harry. "Lady's first" Harry smiled as haley clapped. "Yay me" she gleed. "Wonderful. Miss granger. Step on up slowly, and do a nice bow. It's only polite. So you'll bow and we will see if he bows back, if he does you can pet him, if not...well we will get to that when it comes" Hagrid smiled as haley nodded. She took a few steps forward. "Now bow" Hagrid instructed as she did so. The creature approached towards her as it started to take a step back.

"Strange" Hagrid muttered but haley heard it. Haley looked over towards the animal as the animal stepped back towards her taking a bow. "Wonderful. Now you can pet it" he smiled as haley held her hand out and before taking a step the creature ran towards haley, haley stayed perfectly calm, still holding out her hand. "Get out of the way" Hagrid said but the creature stopped right before making contact with her, buckbeak placed its head in Haley's hand. "Hello gorgeous" haley smiled as she giggled. "Might I ride you" haley asked the animal as it fly out its wings. Haley held the animals face with both hands, placing her forehead against the animals as she took a deep breath. "May I ride him" haley asked aloud. "Are you crazy" Hermione yelled. "It's almost killed you" Draco said afterwards causing everyone to look at him than back to haley.

"Yes. Of course you can. He just gave me a fright" Hagrid said as haley walked over to the side of him, he knelt down on one knee as haley place a hand on the back of buckbeak and one leg on hagrids knee and with a quick jump she sat perfectly on the back of the animal. She giggled as she let her whole body lay on the animals back. "Hang on tight and don't pull his feather. He won't thank you for that" Hagrid said as he gave the animal a slap on the butt as it flapped it's wings taking off into the air. Leaving haley filled with glee, she had her arms hanging out as if she was fly as she giggled as the animal flew over the moat Infront of hogwarts haley sighed as it took back up towards the sky, away in between buildings. She saw they were headed back towards the forest and saw the group of kids as Hagrid whistled and the animal went straight towards him. Haley sighed petting the animal on the neck, before she grabbed hagrids hand and hopped off the animal. "Good job. Miss granger. And good job buckbeak" Hagrid clapped as everyone else clapped with him. Haley did a bow as Hagrid tapped her shoulder. "This wasn't your first time meeting him was it" he asked. "When I lived in America I use to work for a man who cared for magical creatures. Hippogriffs we're always my favorite" haley smiled as he nodded. "Yeah you're not so scary are you. You great ugly brute"  they heard Draco as haley turned around seeing him shove through people.

"Draco stop" haley said. "Don't get near him" Hagrid said as the animal got up on his hind legs and swiped at Draco, haley scoffed as Hagrid got inbetween Draco and the hippogriff. Trying to get the animal to go away. "Oh it's killed me. It's killed me" Draco cried. "Oh please. It's merely a scratch Draco" haley shook her head. "They're poisonous" he whined. "They're definitely not poisonous" she shook her head kneeling down as she pulled some of his shirt away on his arm. "Lucky he only got your arm and not your face" haley smirked. "You like my face don't you" he asked. "Scars are more attractive" haley shrugged as Draco made a confused face "potter" he mumbled. "What?" Haley asked confused. "Alright. What do we have here?" Hayride asked as haley shook her head "Hagrid. He's got to be taken to the hospital wing" haley said as he leaned over. "HAGRID. HES GOT TO GO TO THE HOSPITAL" Hermione yelled as haley put her hand up. "Calm down. We get it. Thank you" haley laughed. "I'm the teacher I'll take him. Class dismissed" he yelled as he picked up Draco. "You're gonna regret this" Draco whine. "You and your bloody chicken" he said as the animal walked back up to haley nudging her. She smiled as she pet him. "Come on haley" Hermione said waving her over. "Bye bye sweet thing. It was wonderful to meet you" Haley smiled once more as she backed up some bowing again. Than animal bowed back as haley giggled standing up and skipping to Harry and them. "How was it" Ron asked. "Why didn't you ride him" Hermione said. "Haley look so excited." Ron said shrugged. "No I think you were scared" Hermione laughed. "It was amazing. It felt to freeing like I could have gone anywhere. But I'm back here" haley shrugged as Harry smiled. "Wish I coulda rode him" Harry asked. "Who buckbeak or Draco?" Haley chuckled. "I'm not like that" Harry said. "I'm only kidding. Loosen up dude. No but it was really fun. I'm sure one day you'll be able to. Just open your mine. Look beyond" haley laughed causing everyone else to laugh as they walked back up towards the school.
