Abhi - Vetri : Vol 2

South meets North - 2

It was morning. Abhi's brother left early with the other boy to the market. Abhi was playing with her little friends in the open ground behind her house.

"Akka! Akka! Neenga out! Neenga dhan suthanum!"a girl squealed.

Giggling, Abhi began to swirl around.

Yawning and stretching his limbs, Vetri stepped outside. He could hear laughter sounds and looked in the direction. He saw Abhi playing with kids. As a tree was blocking, he could not see her face. He tried to look closely just then Pei tapped his shoulder.

P: Anne, seekiram kulichittu vaa....namakku velai irukku...

V: Huh...uh....poreyn....

Vetri went to bathe. After breakfast he and Pei were getting ready to leave to the place they were supposed to go to.

"Thambi, neenga pora edam konjam dhooram ungalukku vazhi theriyama neenga tholainju poga koodadhu adhanala Abhi'ya unga kooda anuppi vaikkireyn...."

Vetri did not refuse. Abhi's father called her.

Pei whispered to Vetri.

P: Yean'ne oor peru theriyaadha rendu vayasu pasangaloda vayasu ponna anuppi vaikiraare....ivaru enna loosaa?

V: Nammala paarthu avarukku nambikkai vandhirukkum nalla pasanganu adhan anuppi vaikiraaru....

P: Enna nalla paiyan'nu nambina sari....unna eppadi namburaaru? Andha Abhi pullaiya sandhichadhula irundhu nee oru maargamaave irukkeanu avarukku theriyalaiyo?

Vetri glared at Pei to shut his trap. Abhi came with her face covered again. Vetri frowned. Abhi's father instructed her to go with Vetri and she obeyed.

A: Vaanga polaam...

She walked ahead with the two guys behind. They covered a distance. To keep herself busy she started singing a folk song on the way. Vetri was tired and even more bored.

V: Yenga, innum yevalo dhooram poganum...?

A: Adhu irukku...vegama vandha vegama poyidalaam...

V: Neenga paattu paadikittu poreenga indha veyil'la kaalkadukka nadandhu vara kashtama irukku....

A: Appo neengalum enna mathiri paadikitte vaanga ungalukku paada theriyumla?

P: Enna'ne solraanga?

V: Enakku paada theriyumaanu keakkuranga....

P: Paada theriyumaava?

Pei was triggered. He called Abhi who turned back.

P: Hello! Neenga paattukku pesittu poreenga...enga annana enna nenacheenga?
Avaru paaduvaaru, aaduvaaru, pala kural'la pesi asathuvaaru ada enga annanukku theriyaadha vithaiye illainga!

He looked at Vetri.

P: Anne! Andhu pullaikku eduthu sollungane! Yaara paarthu enna kelvi keakkudhu...nee oru gilli'nu adhukku puriyira baashaila eduthu sollu'ne....
