Justine's POV:

A loud cry jolts me awake from my slumber suddenly.

My eyes immediately fall upon the cradle in the corner.

It's the early hours of the morning. Sunlight falls softly on the cradle through the small gap between the curtains, creating a halo around it.

I try to get up and out of my bed but a huge arm around my waist holds me down.

"Jay", I nudge him from beside me.

His arm only tightens around me.

"Jay", I clear the sleep out of my throat and nudge him a little more hard this time.

He groans as he buries his head into my neck from behind.

"I got her.", he whispers into my ear in that husky morning voice of his which still sends shivers down my spine.

Placing a chaste kiss on my collarbone, he immediately gets up from the bed in the next heartbeat. The sight of his bare back greets me and those low hanging sweatpants, making me turn over to his side of the bed and pull his pillow to me, squeezing it.

Rubbing the sleep out of his eyes and running his hand through his hair once. I watch as he closes in on the cradle, looming over it and smiling a soft smile.

His hands reach down inside it, pulling our daughter out of it and into his arms.

"Good morning to you too, princess", he mumbles as he holds her.

He places a chaste kiss on her cheek, nuzzling into her soft baby skin a little before drawing back while she wails, kicking her tiny chubby feet into the air.

Her hands in tiny little fists trying to grab hold of anything. Eventually they grab onto her dad's biceps. She looks up at him, her eyes filled with tears as she wails endlessly before burying her face into his chest just like her mama.

I watch as he rocks her back and forth, trying to lull her back to sleep.

It almost makes me laugh out loud how much she's attached to Jay. I can't say that sometimes I don't feel jealous of my own daughter for grabbing onto her dad's attention with just a single antic from her side but I can't help giving her my attention too.

She's just the most precious baby ever with her round chubby face and beautiful long lashes, a few tiny strands of brownish red hair on her small head. Her eyes that deep shade of blue just like her dad's.

Our little Catalina.

Just a four month old baby yet she has everybody wrapped around her finger already.

Cole is just the most obedient and loving big brother to her. He spends most of his time around her, tending to her needs, playing with her, assisting us with her.

Every day, he comes home after school only to rush to her side and greet her with the biggest smile on his face.

We had not planned for our little girl.

She was a total surprise and I was worried at first how everybody would take it. Even Jason, I had no idea how he would react. Thankfully, he was delighted beyond imagination.

Eleanor had almost cried at the mention of my being pregnant.

I was most worried about Cole though.

I know some kids resent the idea of having a sibling and he had never mentioned if he ever wanted to have a sister or a brother before ever.

But when Jason and I, sat him down and explained to him how he would be having a sister in less than a years time, he had taken his time asking us questions about her.
