I walked into dance feeling extremely nauseous. No one knew about Jisung working with me on this assignment, not even Yuriko.I was about to seriously dance in front of everyone... for the first time
I began stretching, noticing neither Jisung or Yuriko were in the class yet. Jisung was the first to enter, joining my side immediately.
Yuriko rushed in right as the bell rang, claiming she had to stop and change first.
The boy managed to somehow lift my anxiety, but it still sat as the teacher began calling people up.
My name was usually towards the bottom of the list and Jisungs was towards the top, so there was no telling how long before we got called up.
The forth person had finished and the class cheered. My body went stiff as the teacher looked directly at me, his face showing he was unsure. "Moriko, come on up."
Whispers flew around the room as Jisung and I walked up to the middle of the room. I began sweating with all the attention, jumping at the feeling of Jisungs hand on my back. He leaned in close to my ear. "Just like we have been practicing, don't focus on anyone else but me."
The music started, and so did our feet. We went through the choreo from Friday, my confidence growing as everyone began cheering. It was probably just for Jisung, however I still got energy from it.
I had an absolute blast doing the choreo we came up with, smiling and laughing with the boy like idiots. Maybe because I knew I had an audience this time, but my cheeks and ears were tomato red.
As we did the ending, he grabbed my waist. Adding to our close proximity, he had to know my body was on fire. We held the ending pose while stealing glances at one anothers lips. I finally backed away, nervously covering my face.
He held my hand, making me bow before running back to my seat.
"GIRL." Yuriko playfully slapped my leg. "When did you get so good at dancing?!? I didn't know you had that in you!"
I hid my face. A few of the students still looked my way in shock.
I didn't know that was possible either
Jisung finally joined us, nudging my shoulder with a teasing smile. "See, you did amazing."
"I know right?!? Boy you are a miracle worker!" Yuriko squealed, kicking her legs in excitement.
"Y-yah, it's not that big of a deal. Getting better in one class isn't going to help me any." I rolled my eyes, gaining a shoulder punch from my sister. "That doesn't matter. We are just happy you found something that makes you smile."
Jisung hummed in agreement. "Your smile while dancing is an extraordinary sight."
I felt myself blush, hiding my cheeks. "Whatever."
That night, I sat in my room, picking at my dinner. I was still stuck in my room upon orders, but I didn't mind it. This way, I wouldn't argue and make things worse.
-- two weeks later --
A lot has changed in so little time. Dance became quite fun and dancing in front of others wasn't so hard anymore. A lot more people have tried talking to me since that one day, but I kept to myself as usual.
I may have had a change in heart about dancing, but I was still extremely introverted. I was okay with just my sister and Jisung.
It was Saturday morning as I watched Yuriko get ready for her date. She bounced around excitedly, spinning around in her flowy dress.
I chuckled, getting comfortable on her bed. "Is it really that exciting? He's just a boy."
She turned around so fast, giving me the dramatic glare. "Girl, don't act like Jisung doesn't make you blush. It's obvious every time he compliments you in dance."
I scrunched my nose, shaking my head. "He's just a friend. I'm not relationship material and no one would want someone like me."
"You just gave three different excuses and none of them are true. He looks at you so lovingly, it kind of makes me jealous." She chuckled to herself, fixing her eyeliner.
Yuriko was really good at doing makeup and hair, so I couldn't help but watch her get ready.
She was cute when excited to. Like a small child.
She checked her phone, lightly screeching. "Shit he's here, how do I look?" She panicked. I stood from the bed, fixing the skirt to her dress. "Pack flat shoes in case your feet start hurting, those heals look uncomfortable."
She sighed. "They are comfortable enough, it's you who can't stand heels. Do I look okay?" She anxiously repeated. I let out a chuckle and smile, squeezing her shoulders. "You look beautiful, as usual. He will be mesmerized."
"This is our first fancy date, god I hope dad doesn't hate him or give him a hard time."
"Well, nows the time to find out. Go on."
We made our way downstairs. Our mother and father waited in the livingroom, ready to meet their daughters potential lover.
I was scared for this Hyunjin boy
With a knock at the door, it was now or never. Yuriko went to answer it, so I took a seat on a chair near my parents.
What I didn't expect to see, is two males walking behind the girl. Both wore expensive looking outfits, standing politely.
"J-jisung? What are you doing here?" I frowned.
Shit, he looks good
The two boys bowed to the four of us. "It's nice to meet you, Mother, Father. My name is Hyunjin, this is my best friend Jisung. We were hoping to get your approval for taking both Yuriko and Moriko on dates."
I looked back and forth between a sheepishly smiling Jisung and a shocked Yuriko.
"Well you see.." my father cleared his throat. "This is quite a surprise. Unfortunately, Moriko is under a lot of trouble right now."
Jisung bowed again as he spoke. "I see and understand that, Sir. I heard that she will be leaving in two weeks, so I humbly request you reconsider and I promise I'd get her home at whatever time you wish."
I was scared for the boy. Never have I ever tried to change my dad's mind. Yuriko wouldn't dare either.
My dad looked to our mom, nodding his head. "Yuriko, be home by midnight. Moriko, ten thirty."
The two males bowed once again. "Thank you, sir. I'll have her home by ten." Jisung assured, turning to me. "I know I surprised you quite a bit, so take your time getting ready."
