While the group is in the classroom, Randy looks at Clementine, who is sitting on the kid-size desk.
Randy: Hey Clem, Are you okay?
Clementine: Yeah.
Clementine: This desk is just like the ones we have in my school. I know it's weird, but I kinda miss it. Being in school
Randy: For me, I kind of miss it. When Howard and I started to go to school, we were very excited about it because we had to see our favourite 'Idol'.
Clementine: Oh. But what kind of school subjects do you like the most?
Randy: Home economics.
Clementine: What's that?
Randy: It's where you learn how to cook and bake.
Clementine: That sounds fun.
Randy: It is.
Clementine: Randy, Do you think things will ever be normal again? Just like the way they were before?
Randy: I don't know, Clem. But we have to believe they will. Remember what Katjaa said back on the farm? She said we'd all be home soon.
Clementine: And now she's dead.
Randy: But we're not. We're still alive. And we have to keep hope alive too. It's the one thing none of this can take away.
Clementine: Yeah
Randy: I need to go talk to Brie.
Clementine: Alright.
Randy walks over to Brie, who is guarding the classroom door.
Randy: Brie.
Brie: Hey... Randy, isn't it?
Randy: Yup.
Brie: Tell Lee thanks for all his help back there. I don't think we would have made it without him.
Randy: I will. We're all on the same team.
Randy decided to ask her a few questions.
Randy: So you're a cancer survivor? Like Vernon and the others?
Brie: Yeah. I was diagnosed when I was in college. Been getting treatment ever since. Just when I was starting to get better, when I thought there might be some hope, all this happened. Lost my whole family. I'm the only one who survived. Funny how things work out, huh?
Randy: I'm sorry to hear that.
Brie: You don't have to apologize, Randy.
Randy: How long have you known Vernon?
Brie: Couple of years. He ran our support group. He was really great helping me come to terms with my disease. But how do you come to terms with something like this? With a place like Crawford? I don't know what I, or the other survivors, would have done without Vernon. He's the one who held us together, kept us alive.
Randy: What do you think about this whole Crawford situation?
Brie: I'd rather not talk about it. Too many awful memories Even being back here gives me a bad feelings.
Randy: Even now, with everyone dead?
Brie: I've got no sympathy for what happened to these people. They weeded out the sick and the old, even children, those least able to defend themselves, so that they could save their own skins. Whatever happened here, however Crawford fell, I consider it poetic justice.
Randy: Man, that's cold.
Brie: It's how I feel. If you'd seen what I've seen, you'd feel the same.
Brie walks and guards the classroom door.
