Sam dropped me at my apartment at 12.45 in the midnight. After accompanying Noah for his dinner in his office, he made me caught up with pending work that he did not manage to do today.

It was my first time seeing Noah looked tired. No matter how many hours he spent his time working, I had not seen him looking that tired.

The fact that he was willing to do what ever it took him to erase all of the photos and news online and newspaper, caught my attention. He did not seem to do anything when the medias took his photos with other girls before.

"There's one thing I'd like to keep it to myself," He said earlier. "You."

He'd been giving me signs and hints that he could be interested in me but I brushed it off. Noah never favored anyone. I was an exceptional because I was his assistant—he spent most of his time with me, not by choice though.

As soon as I freshened up from the bathroom, I went to the kitchen to find something to drink. I flinched when I saw Cassie went to the kitchen with white mask over her face.

"Fuck," I cursed in a low voice. "It's 1 AM!"

She laughed, "I'm sorry, it's skincare day!"

Cassie and I used to have skincare day, two times in a week. Usually we did it on Tuesdays and Fridays. It had been months I had not had skincare day with her since I was too tired when I came home.

"I didn't expect to find you here," She opened the fridge and poured a bottle of water to an empty glass. "Usually you'd be snoozed off."

"I had coffee during dinner," I said. "Noah made me work at night."

"Don't you think he's a little harsh on you?" She said. "I mean I get it, he's the CEO and your nature of work is... a lot of work!"

I chuckled quietly, and I found myself smiling, "He's actually not that bad."

"I can tell," She said. "Your photos and news have disappeared online. I heard he bought all the media companies in town to stop the news."

My eyes widened, "What?"

"Walter, he works at one of the media companies," She began. "They just had conference meetings with some of the other medias and announced the new CEO. The contracts are released and signed by the new CEO. The process was pretty quick and they immediately had to take down all the recent news. There's something else too, but I think that's pretty confidential, even Walter doesn't speak of it."

I covered my face with my palms, not believing what I just heard. What on earth Noah was doing?

He did not just bought all media companies just to get my photos deleted. He probably went too much this time. I knew he was guilty to have me involved with the media but he did not have to go this beyond.

If this what took him to have the news disappeared, I would rather let my photos leaked online. News spread quick and would die quick as well.

"He can't be spending millions to have my photos deleted!" I grunted.

Cassie shrugged, "That's pretty badass, I have to say. Well, at least you don't have to worry about Ryan to see the photo."

I ran my fingers through my hair, "We haven't talked."

"About this?"

I shook my head, "About anything."

She sighed, "You think it's a little bit rushed between you two? I mean, both of you have a busy and big jobs. You two barely have time for each other! And you..." She did not continue.

"What?" I stared at her.

She was struggling to get the words out. Her eyes were shut and hardly spoke as she opened her eyes to look at me, "I don't want to jinx this but... you and Noah might be a perfect couple..."

Before she could finish her words, I cut her in, "Noah and I are nothing but working partners. My job requires me to be with him at all time."

"He gives you a car," She pointed out. "With a driver!"

"He doesn't technically give me the car," I stated. "I need to be at some places immediately and a car with a driver helps me a lot! Noah doesn't like me to waste time to look for a cab or something."

"What about the party?" She asked, trying to make her point.

"He was invited for work related and they happened to have an after-event party... which would be my last party, I'll have you know," I rolled my eyes, remembering how that day went.

She clapped her hands once, "What about the lunch you had with his mother?"

I opened my mouth but no words came out. I held my breath, wanting to say something. Anything. But no words. Because there was no explanation why I'd have lunch with his mother.

"That's actually uncalled for," I said slowly. "It's supposed to be me and him."

"Hah!" She snapped, with a wide smile on her face which made her mask around her lips around almost peeled off. "So it was a date!"

"It wasn't!" I could feel my face was burning.

She just laughed, "You can't deny it, Jane. It's pretty obvious you two like each other." When I was about to say something back, she immediately added, "Why would he spend millions to buy all media companies just to get your photos deleted?"

I gazed at her, wondering the same thing. And then sighed, feeling tired to even say anything.

"So who's Walter?" It was my turn to interrogate her.
