"Wait here," Noah's serious voice whispered to my ear, he then walked towards Jen who currently made probably meaningless conversation with her guests with her poor weak smile.

Did that just happen during dinner just now? This family may seemed like a perfect rich family on the outside but definitely been broken in the inside.

I sighed, looking at Jen from afar, who was being comforted by Noah right now. It must be devastating to have this dinner celebrated with the best caterer and invited some of their friends over to have a nice little gathering, to only have her husband ruined everything.

Noah once told me that Jen had cheated on Nicholas long time ago but there was no way he would still hold grudges over that incident. This felt more personal and intimate complication that only family knew.

Nicholas did mention something about Noah's Grandfather and that might the main concern of this intimate argument earlier. Whatever it was, this was not a perfect family like everyone thought.

Noah then walked towards me after making sure Jen was okay. He put his now warmed hand on my bareback, "I can't leave my mother just yet. We need to be here until everyone leaves."

I held my breath and let go of it smoothly, "Okay, usually how long this lasts?"

He shrugged, "Give it one or two."

"Hours?" I raised my brow.

"I'll give you a ride home, don't worry," He ensured.

A ride home was the least thing I worried about. I had to talk with Ryan about our relationship and for the fact that I turned down his dinner invitation and he found out that I'd be with Noah, it did not look good for our... whatever we were in.

"I'm sorry you have to get stuck with me here," He said under his breath while facing me. "I told you I didn't want to come."

"What's the deal with your father, anyway?" I guessed I drank too much champagne tonight, because I wouldn't be able to find any courage to ask any of his personal information before.

"It's a long story," He suppressed a smile.

"We have one or two hours to kill," This was definitely the alcohol talking. "The music is beautiful and the floor is empty. Why don't we dance and talk?" I winked as I tried to pull his hand to the living room.

Me being a little tipsy was a whole new Jane. That was one thing I was proud of. Cassie told me a drunk Jane was a confident one who did not afraid of anyone. That proved out to be correct today.

"I don't dance," He said softly but he still followed my lead.

"Who does?" I said.

"No one dances here before," He made an excuse.

"No one's making the rules," I laughed a little.

He squinted, probably already found out that I was a little drunk to notice everyone's eyes were on us when we reached at the middle of the room. The music turned up a little when they saw us.

"Hands on my waist," I ordered.

"I thought there's no rules?" He smiled, still putting both of his hands on my waist anyway, while I linked my hands over his neck.

I giggled, as he made an initiative to move a little to the sound of the music.

"So what was that earlier with your father?" I asked with my low voice only for him to hear.

"What do you want to know?" His eyes remained locked on mine, probably amazed by the courage I suddenly possessed to even hold him in my arms.

"There's so many things..." I clicked on my tongue, thinking where to begin. "Are you and Daniel not related?" I asked.
