There was no sight of Noah when I arrived at the office but Nora told me he had come to the office a little early today and he was having a non-stop meeting ever since he came.

My legs kept fidgeting and I kept biting my nails over my lips with hands sweating, nervous even thinking of Noah.

Why did he wait until dawn to go from my apartment? Did we kiss? Did we sleep together? Did we...

I shook my head. There was no way we slept together and had sex. I would've known...right? There was definitely no signs of actions on my body.

I quickly grabbed my mini mirror from my drawer and immediately roamed over my neck. I relieved a sigh when I saw no signs of a hickey. My body did not feel sore at all. Or I hadn't had sex in a while I might forget how it felt post sex?

I would've remembered it well if I had sex with Noah mother-fucking Jefferson. It was definitely something I wouldn't want to forget.

Should I text him? My feet kept fidgeting as my thumb lingering around my phone screen what to text him.

I groaned and got up. This feeling was suffocating me for real and it was getting annoying. I decided to go into his office without his permission.

Usually I'd go into his office briefly to get his things ready for his next meeting but this time, I felt like going in.

As expected, he wasn't here but his familiar scent was. His files and paperwork was everywhere on his office table. My work instinct instantly rearranged it for him and I accidentally found a photograph of his mother beneath all the papers.

I suddenly felt sorry for her, even though I didn't really remember what had happened between her and her husband but it was certainly ugly after that fight last night.

I didn't know what came up to me but courage started to take over me when I pulled up one of the drawers and I found another photograph of a familiar woman. A beautiful brunette wore a long red silk dress was in a hand of a younger Noah, looking happier. I had seen her in one of the photo frames at his house before.

I pulled another drawer and found a confidential file inside with a media record stamped on it. I was hesitated at first but my conscience reminded myself that I was Noah's personal assistant, so I had the right to know every of his business deal.

I opened up the file and the first thing I saw was his big signature as a new CEO of every media company in this town. I skimmed the proposal and my heart skipped a beat when I read, remove all photographs of Jane Miller and all news related to Jane Miller now is prohibited to release on press.

So Cassie was right about Noah buying all the media companies to save my ass. He bought it all just to have my photos deleted. I knew I heard this from someone else other than Cassie before but I couldn't remember exactly who I heard it from.

I put the file back to the drawer. I was not even bothered to put it back to its original state like how I found it.

There were a lot of things running through my head but nothing came up about what happened last night. I was frustrated I couldn't even remember anything. I sat on Noah's desk armchair and surprisingly I found myself comfortable.

It had been a while since I drank. The last time I was drunk was after graduation where Cassie had to carry me home. She told me she even slapped me to wake me up but I couldn't remember.

Suddenly the door was opened and there he stood with other two men, stunned seeing me. I instantly stood up on my heels and said, "Mr. Jefferson, I..."

He straight away proclaimed to them, "Gentlemen, I see that I have company that I need to attend. I hope we can continue our business some other time."
