His head was spinning out of control, he didn't want to go to the guidance counselor that day, he didn't want to look at the man who seemed to so clearly have contributing to the issues that had Lucy breaking down in the hallway, but when he sat down in that chair in the office, the man greeted him with a friendly smile, and it made Tim beyond angry to see. It was like when his parents would go on to take family photos, with happy fake smiles after his father finished beating the living hell out of him. "So Tim, I've got some good news." Mr. Chen said, and Tim only crossed his arms, doubting that was the case. "I've found you a tutor." He said, and Tim messed with his hands, trying to hide the humiliation he felt. "That's good, I guess. Who is it?" He asked, he knew it was one of the smart kids, the ones taking ap classes, he just prayed it was Chris Stanford, that annoying sophomore who was on the debate team and thought he knew everything. "It's actually my daughter. She agreed to become a tutor last year, she's got straight As your in good hands." He said, and Tim about exploded? Lucy?! How the fuck could Lucy tutor him? She was severely traumatized, she couldn't even make it a few hours in school before having a panic attack, in fact she had four yesterday, just during school. "Absolutely not." He said without a second thought. "Look I know she's a little unstable right now, but she's just acting out, she's very smart." He said, and Tim just looked at him like he was stupid. "I know she's smart, but she's traumatized. I'm not putting more stress on her." He said, before simply walking out..
....
School was becoming more and more dreadful, when Lucy realized that Pierson was coming back on Monday. That she would be forced to see him ever single day, and no matter how much her teachers tried to insure her that no one would like anyone hurt her again, she couldn't seem to understand why he was allowed back. She wondered if all her friends could see right through her, but worst of all tim was acting weird. She didn't know why, but he wouldn't look at her. He had driven her and Genny to school that morning like he had been doing for the past couple days, yet whenever Lucy tried to talk to him he shut down, and by lunch when he wouldn't even look in her directions, she shut down. The anxiety took over her, what did she do? Was he angry at her? Finally the last bell rang, and she was both relieved and anxious, she was walking with Genny along the hallways, they had their last period together every day. They had been taking like normal, when Genny noticed much was upset. "Okay come on, spill." She said, while crossing her arms, looking Lucy directly in the eye. "Did Tim say anything to you? Because he's acting really weird, and I feel like I did something." She confessed the panic filling her voice a little more then she would've liked, because after all Tim hated her for years, this behavior should be normal, yet after weeks of him constantly checking up on her, talking to her, he held her multiple times! She couldn't seem to understand how he could just go back to hating her. "You didn't do anything, he just gets like this sometimes. Here let's go talk to him!"
Tim didn't understand why he refused to talk or look at her, he wasn't mad at her in the slightest, but he was angry. He was failing his classes, and after trying to have Mr Chen get him another tutor, time found out the only other kid on the tutoring list was three other people, and two of them were charging 50 dollars a day, he couldn't afford that, so he was left with one other option Chris Stanford, the asshole who Lucy had dated, the boy who thought he was so smart just because he was on the debate team, he also found out that Chris had slut shamed Lucy for what happened to her, and the more he thought about it the more he realized his only option was forcing Lucy who was traumatized, or to fail his class and have to retake his junior year.
