You looked around the retreat. You saw some attending a garden while others were hanging clothes and others were partaking in other tasks. Everyone wore white tunics. This didn't seem like a retreat. It seemed like a commune. Oh God. Had Druig started a cult?

"Hi," you walked up to a man. "Do you know if Druig is here?"

"How do you know Druig?" the man smiled at you.

"I um, it's a long story," you said. "We just needed to meet with him."

"Ah you must be fans," he said.

"Definitely not," Eros said but you elbowed him.

"Yes we're fans," you said. "Big fans. We wanted to join the com—I mean retreat. We were told Druig was in charge here."

"Yes, he is," the man said. "Come I will take you to him. He is just finishing up a meditation class."

He walked off, leaving you to follow. "A meditation class?" Eros whispered. "Your lover does not seem like the meditation type."

You elbowed him again. "He's human right now."

"I'm just saying, maybe if he meditated as an Eternal, he wouldn't be jealous all the time."

"He's only jealous because you enjoy winding him up," you rolled your eyes before stopping dead in your tracks. Druig.

He was in front of the others, sitting with his back to you, but you would know him anywhere. He was your other half after all. You stopped yourself from running to him. He didn't know you yet.

It's me, my love. You tried to send to him mentally, but there was no response. You felt the empty void of his thoughts inside you.

"Druig," the man leading you said. "I'm sorry to disturb you. These people are here to join the retreat. They wished to meet with you."

Druig nodded and stood. "Close the class out for me, will you, Michael?" He turned to face you and you felt your heart skip a beat as you took in his face as he smiled at you. "Hello, I'm Druig. And you are?"

"Y/N," you said softly. You knew it wasn't his fault. You had known he wouldn't recognize you. But it still broke your heart. "And this is Eros."

"Unusual names for an unusual couple," he said. "But then, Druig isn't exactly normal either. Come, let's talk."

"I guess the meditation is helping him," Eros whispered. "Otherwise he would have had an aneurysm before calling us a couple."

You shushed him as you followed Druig to a gazebo on a pond. "Please sit," he gestured. "You have come to participate in the retreat?"

You sat down. "Well, not exactly," you said. "We um we needed to talk to you, and this seemed the only way."

He looked at you curiously. "And why would you need to talk to me?"

"Well um it's kind of a long story," you weren't sure where to begin.

"I'll just sum it up for you," Eros chimed in. "Basically the world is in danger from the Lord of Deviants which is a pretentious name even for me, you don't have your memories because of a test but we need you to come with us so we can save the world and prove true love exists."

Druig started laughing after a moment. "That's a good one," he said. "You have quite an imagination."

You glared at your companion. "Smooth," you said before looking at Druig. "Look, I know it seems crazy. Trust me, I was in the same boat just yesterday. But it's true. You and I, we're—we know each other. I know you don't remember me, but I'm telling the truth. And there is a danger. We need to find the others like us and stop it."
