"What the hell is that?" Druig asked behind you.
"That would be the Lord of Deviants, and threat to your planet," Eros said.
"Maybe we should call the police," Sersei said.
"Eros, get them out of here."
"I'm not going to leave you to face him alone," Eros said.
"Without their powers, they're defenseless," you said, conjuring fire in your hands. The wind picked up around you. You were not going to go down easily. You had to protect Sersei and Druig.
Ghaur advanced on you slowly, the sinister look not leaving his face. "I learned something since our last encounter, Eternal," he said. "It seems the Eternals of Earth have faced judgment from The Living Tribunal."
"Last time, you said you heard I defeated Tiamut. What makes you think you can take me on?" You asked.
"Without their powers, you cannot defeat me."
"I wouldn't be so sure about that," you said, throwing the fire at him. He blocked them with his staff and laughed.
"Is that the best you can do?" He asked, using his staff to send an energy wave at you, knocking you all back to the ground.
"Now would be a really good time to transmute something sharp," you grumbled towards Sersei. You got to your feet. "Eros, protect them."
"We need to get out of here," Sersei cried.
"If we leave, he will only find us again," you said. "Besides, we need to get him away from these humans."
"Or alternatively, we can live to fight another day," Eros said as he shot an energy ball at Ghaur, keeping him back. "Especially since our powers alone weren't enough last time."
"I have to try to hold him off," you shook your head. You shot him with a gust of wind to keep him away from you.
"Your powers, as impressive as they are, don't seem to be hurting him much," Druig said.
You turned towards Ghaur again. "That wasn't even close to my best," you answered them both before throwing multiple fireballs at him. He managed to block them all. You waved your hands and clouds gathered above you, rain pouring down over you. You turned them into ice picks and hurdled them at him, showering him in the assault. He put his hand up over his face, shielding himself. You aimed your focus on the ground, letting it shake below his feet.
He growled and waved his staff around, causing the ground to stop. "That will not work again, Eternal," he said before lunging at you, bringing his staff down to strike. You ducked and kicked him in the chest, sending him back. Thena would have been proud, you thought. He came at you again and again, trading blows until finally you tried to flip away from his staff striking at you, but he caught your foot, throwing you to the ground. He shot another blast at you and you groaned in pain.
You tried to sit up, but he put his foot on your chest. "Pity, I was expecting a better fight. I did not expect you alone to defend this miserable species. But I suppose it doesn't matter. Once I kill you, I will kill the others and his power will be mine." He raised his staff, but something hit him in the side, causing him to fall to the ground. It was an odd looking blade. You looked at the others and saw Sersei standing in front, a determined look on her face.
"She is not alone," she said. She grabbed a lipstick from her bag and hope filled you as you watched her change it to another blade and throw it at him.
Ghaur growled in anger. "You have not stopped me, Eternal," he said menacingly before holding his staff up to the sky and disappearing once again in a bright beam of light.
