As F/N pushed open the mahogany doors to Jiyoung Yoo's office, he could feel the weight of the moment pressing down on him. The Chairwoman of Shinhwa, renowned as one of South Korea's most formidable Awakened, commanded respect and fear in equal measure. She was a master of Aerokinesis and one of the few who could use Spatial Isolation, a rare and highly coveted ability among the Awakened. Her reputation was as impeccable as it was daunting, and she was known for her unyielding demeanor and strategic prowess.
F/N's shoes clicked against the pristine marble floor as he walked into the office, trying to suppress the skepticism and unease that had begun to simmer under his calm exterior. His life's experiences had made him wary of Awakened organizations and their often-hidden agendas. Still, he trusted his uncle's decision to transfer him to Shinhwa, hoping it would be a mutually beneficial move.
Behind a grand, imposing desk sat Jiyoung Yoo, her gaze fixed on F/N with a penetrating intensity. Despite her petite frame, she exuded an aura of power and authority that was palpable. Her posture was rigid, and her expression was one of controlled calculation, a look that had undoubtedly unnerved many before him. F/N approached with a respectful bow, knowing full well the importance of making a strong first impression.
"Chairwoman Yoo, it's an honor to finally meet you," F/N said, his voice steady and respectful as he straightened up.
Jiyoung's eyes remained unwavering as she assessed him. "F/N L/N," she began, her tone measured and cool, "I have heard of your reputation as one of the top Awakened from Siberia. While Shinhwa welcomes and values your skills, we approach individuals with such power with the utmost care." She paused, glancing toward a man standing at her side. "I understand you have a hearing impairment. My assistant, Inhyuk Goo, will be more than happy to assist with translation if needed."
Inhyuk Goo, standing to her right, had an air of quiet competence. His straight black hair was slicked back, and his black eyes were sharp and attentive. A prominent mole under his right eye added to his distinct features. He wore a teal suit with subtle blue stripes, a gray cardigan underneath, and matching trousers.
F/N nodded politely, keeping his composure. "Thank you, Chairwoman, but that won't be necessary. I can read lips quite well, better than most humans, in fact. While I understand your need for caution, I hope to prove my worth to you and Shinhwa and earn your trust. My uncle believes this transfer will be beneficial for both me and the Association."
Jiyoung leaned back in her chair, her expression unchanging. "Trust, F/N, is not given freely. It is something that must be earned, especially when dealing with someone of your capabilities. Your actions and your commitment to Shinhwa will determine how we integrate you into our ranks."
From the corner of the room, Jisuk Yoo, Jiyoung's younger brother, leaned against the wall with a smug look on his face. His reputation preceded him as one of the most powerful Awakened of his generation in South Korea. Known for his Aerokinesis and a temper to match, he enjoyed a fight and was quick to challenge those he deemed worthy. He smirked, his green-gray eyes gleaming with a mix of arrogance and curiosity.
