Chapter 19.
COME TO THINK OF IT. A boss' job should be handling the family business, but I don't do that since si uncle na ang nakatoka ro'n. A boss should meet with the potential business partners and the hold meetings every now and then, but I don't do that either dahil si tito na ang gumawa no'n.
Roa didn't come to school today. Of course, knowing Luciano, he wouldn't risk his successor's life. His son was almost abducted.
Thinking about it made my forehead crease more in frustration. Was it my fault? Or was it my men's fault? It couldn't be mine, because I did my best to get him out of campus without anyone tailing him. But if I say it's my men's fault, bakit naman papalpak si Trisver?
My train of thoughts were stopped when I heard my classmates scream in excitement.
I bit my lip when Kace entered my mind again. Hindi pa nga pala kami nagkita ulit pagkatapos no'ng nangyari. Roa's absent for days, of course he has no reasons to come here if his friends isn't here. And I think... that's a relief. Because I didn't know what to say or do once I see him after what I did.
Speaking of the devil...
"Anong ginagawa mo rito?" I tried to sound casual and normal as possible amidst my system going wild inside.
He didn't respond.
"May event kayo next week."
"Malamang. May attendance, eh."
It was really akward, and I didn't know what to do aside from not talk.
But not talking about it just made me feel more anxious and awkward, but I'd rather feel this than talk about it, honestly.
He inhaled, as if he was offended, before he threw the cigar he was holding and turned his whole body to face me.
My brows furrowed, still acting like I didn't know what he meant. "Ano ba kasi 'yon?"
