CHAPTER 26.

HINDI KO SIYA MAINTINDIHAN. He's obviously an enemy, but he acts and talks as if we're friends, or acquaintances. And all of my enemies want me dead, while he wants me to remain alive.

He must be planning something.

My mind was in disarray, so I stormed out of his room to save myself.

My arms were crossed, as I observed his slow yet precise movements, showing how skillful he is when it comes to house chores, especially cooking. Oh, well, that is if he will live that long.

“Do you want the yolk in your sunny side up hard, or malasado lang?” he suddenly asked, without turning to me.

I blinked. “Anything. I eat whatever you give me, anyway.”

I continued watching him cook, but my mind flew to something else. I heightened all of my senses, too, just in case there would be a surprise attack or something.

“So... hindi talaga kayo friends ni Kace sa lagay na 'to?” I tried opening up a topic since the silence was making me crazy.

“I told you, we're not,” giit niya. “He's not my friend. He's my personal body guard that my father assigned. Kahit hindi na ako ang magiging tagapagmana ng business niya, he still needed to protect me because he wanted my mother's properties that was put under my name.”

Napatango ako. That sounded just like Luciano. “You don't want his business?”

“I don't,” mabilis niyang sagot. “His blood may be flowing inside me, but I'm not going to be like him.”

“You ran away from home.”

I was about to take a bite on the hotdog when I heard footsteps from behind. And because it's his size, the clothes fit perfectly on his body.

It made me grimace, because we wore the same shirt and pants. He's planned this, I'm sure.

His eyes met mine, and it didn't leave until he reached the spot beside me.

I raised a brow at him. Why is he so good at acting like nothing happened all the time?

“And what? You'll strangle me to death, throw my body somewhere, and let me decompose because no one's here?”

He chuckled. “As if you won't strangle me back if I do that.”
