Hecate's POV

"So!" I yelled when I saw her fall to the ground. I knelt next to her but even when I shook her a bit, she didn't wake up. I checked if she was still breathing, but even if she was, it was rather slow and sounded like she was struggling.

I started panicking. I hadn't thought of that situation. I couldn't leave the castle, but at the same time I couldn't leave her there and hope it was nothing. And even if I sent word to someone, I didn't know if they were going to see it right away, after all, it was holidays. Whilst I thought what else to do, I grabbed her and I laid her down in her bed. Suddenly I remembered a potion I used the first years after Ada put the spell on me, to "visit" my family without actually being there. Afraid to leave her alone but not having any other choice, I teleported to the lab and started working as fast as I could. Five minutes later, I went back to her room, potion in hand. I drank it fast and I saw the room standing before me disappear, to let me see the magical hospital reception. I teleported So with her bed to the middle of the hall, and my reflection ran to the nearest nurse.

"Help!" I yelled to her. "You need to help her, I don't know what happened she just collapsed after teleporting." I explained. She called for another nurse and when to check on So. After a few minutes of checking her vitals, the nurse I had spoken to came to speak with me.

"We are going to take her to a room. We'll run some tests so that we can find what's affecting her. You can... you know, teleport the bed back if you want." she said, as the other nurse teleported So somewhere else.

"Oh, right, thank you." I replied whilst sending the bed back.

"If you could just follow me, you can wait outside her room until we call you to come inside."

"Of course."

I walked behind her for a few minutes until we stopped in front of a door. I made my reflection sit on the chair while I actually sat in So's bedroom. Hours went by without me knowing a thing. Before I knew it it was 5 a.m. and still nothing. I was starting to get really anxious, but before I could stand up and go look for someone, the door finally opened.

"I'm sorry you had no news thus far. Please, come in."

As I quickly entered the room, I saw Sofía still unconscious. I stared at the nurse looking for answers.

"We still haven't been able to find what's causing her unconsciousness. We thought you might be able to tell us something we could use."

"Wait. It's been more than 6 hours and you still got nothing?! Not even a theory?!"

"Well, we do have a theory, but it doesn't make any sense." she answered.

"What is it?"

"Well, her symptoms really match the Golden Bee Fever. It's a virus, you don't feel anything at first, but the more you use your magic it starts consuming you. When it gets to this point it would be almost unstoppable, but it doesn't make sense because we found a potion to cure it hundred of years ago. The virus is still there, but every magical kid is given this potion when they are still very young so that they never get it..." As she was still talking about some technicisms of the virus, my head started spinning. I had realized what was wrong. How could I had been that stupid? I tried to regain my speaking ability and I whispered:

"She never drank it."

"Wait, what was that?"

"She never drank it." I repeated loudly.

"That's not possible..."

"Yes it is. She doesn't come from a magical family, she is Cackle's first student from a non-magical background. I should have known better."
