"You've been out for a while, how are you feeling?" Derek asked, softly stroking Rebecca's forehead as she tried to make sense of her situation. She woke up to his words and was incredibly disorientated, she didn't know what day it was or why she couldn't remember anything significant. All she knew was that Derek was by her side, looking at her with warm eyes and speaking to her in a tone that she wasn't used to. He was being gentle and caring, words Rebecca didn't often relate to Derek.
"Confused.." She mumbled, sitting up slowly and looking around.
"It's okay, you're okay. Everyone is just fine." Derek comforted, the kindness in his tone unusual and only confusing Rebecca even more.
"What happened? Where is Mikayla?" She questioned, something was off; she knew it.
"Sh- she's gone." Derek replied, hesitating slightly. "Turns out she's not a werewolf and she took off before anyone could do anything about it. She's some type of shape shifter, but we don't know enough to pin point what she actually is. She'll be back though, Mikayla never stays away for long."
"What? How?" Rebecca asked, now confused at how she had fooled literally all of them. Surely someone would've noticed that she was a superficial werewolf? Apparently not.
"The bite doesn't always turn you into werewolf as you're well aware and it clearly didn't with her. She played us well though, she was here with a purpose and she left after getting what she came for, unfortunately we don't know what it is that she really wanted." Derek answered, his kind tone now sounding bitter which made Becs want to scoff. He was only here because Mikayla was gone, she was his second choice.
"What about Stiles?"
"He's fine, he is safe as is Scott. They're both worried about you though, once again, you're lucky to still be alive."
"So everyone is fine and safe?" Rebecca pressed, ignoring his 'lucky to be alive' comment. Something was up, it was too good to be true.
"Yes. It's all over, Jackson is no longer the kanima and is heading to London as we speak. For once, everything really is okay. I was really worried about you, you know. You've been unconscious for a week or so, Deaton wasn't sure if you'd wake up. You drained yourself, you can't keep doing this, Becca. We need to work out your powers and train you up, I don't want to go through this again. Now Mikayla is gone we can focus on us, nothing is getting in the way. I love you." Derek said, leaning in as he finished speaking, but their closeness was a trigger that sent Rebecca flying back as she gasped. Her hands were drawn to her mouth and her eyes were wide as she remembered, Stiles.
"I kissed Stiles." She whispered, her big eyes nervously looking up at Derek. Instantly he tensed up, his jaw tightened and he pulled away from her. She was not the same girl he fell in love with, that girl wouldn't have hurt him like that. Although he hurt her too, constantly and it was only now that he was realising the consequences of how he had treated her. It was all wrong.
Rebecca kissed Stiles and she liked it. Now, as she looked up at Derek who she had never seen so hurt, she had no idea what she wanted. She had no idea what she had done. She was a self-confessed rebel who had landed herself in the middle of trouble with no harmless way out.

Mikayla had observed enough in Beacon Hills to know the truth.
Rebecca was a key player in the world of the supernatural, but she wasn't a pythonissam as they all believed. The similarities were amazing, but if they continued to train her as one she would eventually drain herself to the point of death. Mikayla knew the McCall girl was barely breathing as it was, but it was not her task to keep her alive; she had simply just been asked to find out what she really was, nothing more, nothing less.
She was not worried that the Beacon Hills werewolves now knew she was something other than a werewolf, she knew they wouldn't bother chasing her; she didn't seem important enough. Regardless, she was stronger than them and she would be even more so when she delivered the good news to Deucalion.
He was sure to reward her once she told him the truth, the truth that Rebecca McCall was not a pythonissam. No, she was something much more powerful, something that would send regular packs running in fear. Something Deucalion desperately wanted for his pack and something that was bound to complete them. Rebecca was an element and Mikayla was very aware of the lengths her leader would go to to 'collect' her. There would be bloodshed and the sadistic shape-shifter could not wait to watch it all unfold.
'They're coming', she thought to herself in glee, 'they're coming and with them they're bringing death and fear'.
