Rain pelted The window of Gus' bedroom.

"I-" Matt started but never finished

"You're not sleeping on the floor. You're sleeping on the bed."

"But where will you sleep?"

"Matty, we can just share the bed."

Matt's face flushed a light hue.

"O-Ok"

Gus allowed Matt under the covers.

"Goodnight Matt."

"G'night"

Gus fell asleep quickly, A horrible mistake. He had sort of latched onto Matt as the two slept.

<'dream' sequence>

< "A snake walks into a bar and the bartender asks how did you do that?"

"What the hell are you on about?

"Shhhhhhhhut the fuck up"

Gus goes over to the sleep tracker Matt had. 3 days were missing.

He's lost his mind. Good to know.

Matt began to laugh. He laughed hysterically. Abomination goo coated the now empty room

"Matty what did you do?"

"..."

"What did you do?"

"Heh. What did I do? Look at what you've done" Matt turned his head and rolled up his sleeves to reveal bruising on his face and Gus' name carved into his forearm

"Wh-what" Gus took an unsteady step backwards.

"I'm sorry. But you've hurt everyone you've met. That's why she died"

Gus couldn't speak. The room faded to that sad little boy. The little boy crying at his mother's hospital bedside. Doctors walked through Matt and Gus. They were nothing but ghosts. It faded back to the room

"I can't believe I have to do this. But what needs to be done will be done."

Matt waved Gus' staff to send strings of abomination to take him. He reached out. Matt handed him a now broken Emmiline.

Gus fell further into the goo, kicking and screaming. He cried until his voice was dry, his kicked until he felt like collapsing on the floor. he fell.>

His body shifted constantly. He began kicking physically. Matt woke up to the violent motions.

"Guuus" He groaned

Gus was whimpering and turning, the tears flowing down his face becoming visible in the moonlight.

Matt's breath hitched. He began nudging Gus awake, and he shot up in a quick second, his hands were drawn to the uneven collar of his shirt, as his breathing picked up quickly. Tears were streaming out of his eyes as he hyperventilated.

Matt pulled Gus into a grand hug. Gus buried his face in Matt' shoulder as he cried.

"It's ok now. You're safe. I'm here. Just breathe."

Gus tried to take in a deep breath, only to choke on the air as it filled his lungs.

"Can you speak?"

Gus tried to speak, but he couldn't get a word out. He drew a glowing spell circle, words popping out of thin air.

'No, I can't.' They read

"Ok. Just take five little breaths."

Gus did so.

"Think of 4 things you can see"

'You, the desk, the clock, my hands.' The message read.

"3 things you can hear"

'Your voice, the rain, our heartbeats'

The last one made Matt blush a bit.

"2 things you can feel"

'The tears, and your shirt'

"Now one deep breath"

Gus found it easier to breathe.

"Feeling better?"

"Y-yeah. Thanks"

"No problem, this happens to me too sometimes."

Gus hugged Matt again and whispered in his ear

"I couldn't ask for a better friend."

Matt wasn't really used to Hugs, and he'd been up for so long before he arrived, he fell asleep in Gus' arms

Gus laid Matt down and placed a kiss on his forehead.

"I love you." He admitted to no one but himself. No one to hear him. No one to judge.
