The one thing that Amity loved most, was that Luz was so excited to learn more magic. In fact, Raine offered to teach her how to play the Clarinet. (definitely not the author self projecting bc she doesn't know how to play any other instrument)
She found it adorable how excited Luz would get when she hit a new note, and how enthusiastic she was about being able to make music.
Magic or not, it was lovely.

"No, see, you keep pushing the register key, that's why your notes are so high." Raine chuckled.
"Ah..." Luz followed suit, and let out a small laugh before re-doing her scale.

"Good!" They smiled at the younger. "You hit the high C well.
Luz beamed.
"With that out of the way, I'd like to give you this." Raine handed her a slip of paper, entitled 'Dragon Slayer' By Rob Grice. "I looked through some of Eda's human treasures...and I found this..." They smiled warmly at Luz.
For the next few weeks, Luz would try and play the music, slowly making uer way to the end, before finally able to finish.

Very happy with herself, she played the song for Amity, who was enthralled by the soft parts, that slowly grew stronger as if the dragon's wings itself were flapping about, it was just beautiful...

"Nice work, Batata. You picked it up rather quick, didn't you?" Amity tilted her head slightly, her interest piqued. It had taken her years to perfect a single Abomination spell, so for Luz to pick up the Clarinet so easily was odd to her. Then again, it didn't require magic.

"I guess so, I mean...I've spent a lot of lunch periods in the band room at my old school...since I didn't really have anyone else to sit with, heh." Luz rubbed her neck sheepishly. It was often that she'd observed the band students playing, practicing, or at some point, throwing mallets. That was an odd day.

Amity gave Luz a sympathetic look. She hated the idea of Luz being lonely or ostracized, it just made her blood boil. "I see." Amity nodded philosophically, looking at the Clarinet with intrigue.

It wasn't long until Luz wrote her own piece for Amity, entitled 'Lovely, Lovely'
The piece started out with lower notes, ranging from the low F to los Bb, but as it went on, the melodic and soft piece went further up the staff.

"Batata..." Amity had no words. For Luz to take so much time to play such a sweet piece. Amity couldn't help but be reminded of the first time she looked at Luz and didn't see the loud, annoying and overly ambitious girl who she'd met disguised in purple...
