"jungwon-ah!" the said male's head turned towards the cheery voice of his best friend. "sunoo hyung! over here!" jungwon waved and beckoned his friend over. it was sunoo's first payday, and he was getting drinks for everyone he invited, which included jungwon and two of their other friends, jake and niki.
"-and i'd like a mojito, extra lime wedges." while jake thanked the bartender for the order, jungwon scrolled through his feed. "damn, 6k follows? wonie, you're practically famous!" sunoo squeezed his arm, and niki looked over his shoulder, laughing. "hyung, it's facebook. he's famous for middle aged people. you should've ordered an old fashioned 'lmao'."
jake furrowed his brows at the abbreviation. "do you say that out loud these days- damn i'm old." he shrugged which made everyone laugh. jungwon just shrugged, he liked exploring aged technology, it's fascinating how underdeveloped it was compared with newer ones. someday, maybe he'll find someone who learns to appreciate it.
after gulping down his pina colada, sunoo walked towards the bartender, his hips swaying more than it should. "hey there, what's your name?" he sat on the stool, crossing his legs somewhat flirtatiously, catching the bartender off guard.
"park sunghoon-ssi? that's a sweet name." he pulled sunghoon's name tag towards him, their faces inches apart. "thank you, what's yours?" sunghoon leaned closer, as the friends giggled and slapped each other's limbs.
"you can call me whatever you want," he paused, now next to sunghoon's red ear, "maybe call me yours?" he took a marker from the counter and wrote his number down on the napkin, and slid it into to the flustered male's open palm. "whenever you want." he kissed the blushing man's cheek and went back into the friend group.
niki took a look at sunoo and nonchalantly grimaced, "stop acting, you suck at flirting. i know you're not drunk from one tiny pina colada." sunoo immediately turned scarlet and lowered his head, asking, "was i too thirsty?" jake and jungwon just patted his back while niki patted his own. "detective conan would be proud. tsk, oldies."
the moment jungwon turned around, he met a pair of piercing eyes. they were dark brown, but they looked pitch black under the flashing blue lights of the club. "i'm gonna go on the dance floor. jake hyung?" niki held his hand out like a gentleman and immadiately got jake off the stool. "finally some fun! whoop whoop!" niki mouthed a 'boomer' towards jungwon and he laughed lightly.
jungwon, once again, met those dark eyes. they were perfectly asymmetrical, each corner carved masterfully onto a face with sharp, precise features. gorgeous, the stranger was, undeniably.
the stranger began to walk towards jungwon, who was still near the bar, his phone casting a white cast on his face. jungwon didn't know why, but he felt the urge to move. to get closer.
and with each step the stranger took across the dance floor, the urge thickens. and in a single moment, his phone turns off, and the stranger is in front of him.
now just 2 feet apart, he could analyse his features closer. the near invisible scar on his nose, his plump, cracked lower lip parted in two, his perfume. sea salt with a tinge of sandalwood and lime. it smelled like freedom on a summer day.
"hey there," jungwon checked him out further. he was clad in black slacks and a blue satin shirt. 'god he's gorgeous.' one by one he ticked all the boxes in jungwon's mind—the stranger was exactly his type, jungwon thought, his mind fuzzing up at the sight of the stranger. "hi, what brings you here?" jungwon gave him a slight smile, his dimple attack on the horizon.
the stranger smirked, even the way he smiled made jungwon swoon. "i'm jay." jungwon raised a brow, 'hmm, not from here.' jungwon shook his outstretched hand, "jungwon. yang jungwon." the stranger pulled his hand, which inevitably pulled jungwon all together. despite mastering the arts of taekwondo and his addiction of curry and rice, he's still very light.
"can i buy you a drink?" to which jungwon smiled and nodded.
for some reason, jungwon felt like he had met his other half, spiritually. he wasn't superstitious, never on par with the idea of deities, but he had never felt such a connection with someone other than his plants before. "so, you're american?" jay nodded, a smirk played on his lips, jungwon loved that it was the way he smiled, his pearly whites light blue under the blue lights.
"cats or dogs?" jungwon sipped on his new drink, a shot of brandy. jay chuckled, and stared at jungwon. "cats." they both looked at each other in the eye, it seemed like jay could feel his heart, darting from pulse to pulse so desperately that he felt suffocated by the overwhelming sensation. he was burning up, jay got up from the stool and stood in front of him. jungwon's doe eyes stared intently into jay's intimidating gaze.
jay lifted jungwon onto the counter, his legs wrapped up around his torso. "i've never met a cat person like you before," jungwon giggled, "depends on which breed you like" he began to hum and moan softly as jay placed butterfly kisses all over his cheeks and neck. "black bombay, you?" jay's warm breath caressed jungwon's red hot ears. "orange marmalade cats," he gasped as he felt jay's tongue on his collarbones. "mackerel patterned."
jay sucked on his neck, leaving trails of hickeys as jungwon ran his fingers through his hair. he lifted his head and attached his lips on his. jay tasted like alcohol, with a tinge of raspberries and caffeine, and a little bit of minty candy. "don't you taste sweet," jay smirked as he looked at jungwon. oh how jungwon's facial expression drove him insane.
jungwon's rosy swollen lips were apart, panting for air, his eyes shut and face flushed, painting his cheeks crimson under the warm coloured lights. jay tried to take it all in, eventually diving in to taste more of that juicy sweetness.
after that hot night, jungwon was sure to receive more teasing.
