PART FIVE – CHAPTER ONE;

DECLAN RICE

23rd June – 30th June

A mixture of the thrill of making it through the group stages as well as the quarantine life of Mason Mount and Ben Chilwell. England prepare to face Germany at Wembley on the 29th June, which they go on to win 2:0.

A goal from Sterling in the 75th minute with an assist from Luke Shaw, and then a goal in the 86th minute from Harry Kane with an assist from Jack Grealish, sends them into the Quarter Finals.

Declan Rice starts but is subbed off in the 87th minute for Jordan Henderson, whereas John Stones plays the full match. Mason Mount and Ben Chilwell are reunited with the group as Mason is on the bench however Ben watches from the stands.

-----------------------------------

They had made it out of the group stages.

Dec still couldn't believe it days later.

He felt like he would wake up and pinch himself, realising that it was in fact a dream. But it wasn't it was all real and he was doing it with his best friends and his girlfriend on the sidelines.

The only thing he didn't like though was the fact that he didn't get to celebrate with Mason on the pitch at the last match. With his imposed quarantine he hadn't seen Mason or Ben for almost a week, and he was missing his best friend.

He wanted to go through all these stages together, experience it all together, like they usually did. So he couldn't wait for him to come back, he was sure he was bored to death while shut away.

Daisy looked over the Instagram post that the England team had put up, the caption reading 'WHEN YOU CLOCK THE CAMERA' a picture of Declan above it, looking directly at her, smiling away.

She had taken the photo of him the day before, once again him spotting her like he does whenever she was around, smiling instantly towards her as she found herself smiling whilst she took the photo.

She had already decided it was one of her favourite pictures she had taken of him, and that was saying something as her professional camera and phone camera seemed to be practically full of pictures of him, or him and her, she was starting to think it was a bit of an obsession.

She had also taken a picture of him and Jack in the gym today which had gone up online too, and even though he looked good in that photo, it was nothing compared to the way his eyes sparkled in the first one.

She honestly couldn't get over that he was hers.

"You don't need to make a fuss" said Daisy as she smiled watching the way Dec was scrolling through his phone before his blue eyes looked up at hers.

"Yes I do" he grinned at her "it's your birthday Dais, we are making a fuss of you whether you like it or not" he was sure of that.

He had been making some calls in the last day or two, arranging for the flowers that he had been so eager to order be delivered to St George's Park rather than her apartment like he has planned. Also the pastries and cake he planned out were also being redirected to here too.

He had text Ruby too and she was gathering up the presents he had had delivered to her and she was planning on bringing them to the Germany match. She had said she would get together the presents from the others too as in her eyes they all weren't coming home soon so Daisy deserved to have all of her presents now.
