A couple of weeks went by after Sam apologized to Carly and Griffin and everything was going well. iCarly was thriving more than ever, Sam and Carly were still best friends, and Sam had developed a good friendship with Griffin. Life was going to get even better since Summer was finally here. The gang wrapped up their last day of school at Ridgeway High and headed to the beach for a weekend getaway. Alki Beach in Seattle was their destination. It was close by and they were able to get a VIP suite at a hotel on the beach for being local celebrities. It had enough beds to house Carly, Sam, Freddie, Griffin, and Gibby comfortably.
Griffin took Carly on his motorcycle to the hotel while Spencer transported Sam, Freddie, and Gibby.
"I feel like I'm forgetting something," said a concerned Freddie who was sitting in the backseat.
"Are you forgetting that we wished you wouldn't be coming with us?" asked Sam in a sassy tone who was riding shotgun.
"Ha ha," replied Freddie as he rolled his eyes, "very funny, Sam."
"Sam, be nice to Freddie," said Spencer who was trying to focus on driving and keep Sam and Freddie from arguing. "You guys are going to have a blast, we're almost there."
Given it was closer to the evening, the agenda for the first night was light. The plan was to unpack once they arrived at the hotel and head to the beach to catch the sunset. After the sunset, they had dinner reservations at the 5-star restaurant in the hotel they were staying at.
After about 10 more minutes, the gang pulled up to the hotel. It was 20 stories high and painted tan. There was a roundabout in front of the hotel which Spencer followed to make it to the entrance. In the middle of the roundabout was a body of water that squirted water 10 feet in the air, creating a mini waterfall. Everyone's jaw dropped as they examined their home for the next 3 nights.
Carly and Griffin had arrived moments before Spencer and the rest of the group. Spencer helped unload the car that was full of bags and suitcases containing everyone's clothes and necessities for the weekend.
"Bye Spencer!" yelled Carly as she and the rest of the squad made their way into the hotel with all of their belongings.
"Be safe! Let me know if you need anything. I'll be back Monday morning." Spencer called out as he watched them make their way to the front desk before leaving in his car.
"This is gonna be sick!" an excited Gibby called out. "I love hotels, they always give you mini hair products."
"That's really what you're most excited about?" asked Freddie in a confused tone.
"Hi, we're checking in, Carly Shay," said Carly to the front desk receptionist.
"Oh, Carly Shay from iCarly!" said the middle-aged woman working the front desk. "My daughter loves your show. Here are your room keys. VIP suite on the 20th floor facing the beach," said the woman as she motioned to the elevator. "Have a fun stay! And please do let us know if you need anything at all."
The iCarly group let out a collective "thank you" as they made their way to the elevators and headed to the 20th floor, the very top of the hotel.
Once they reached the 20th floor, the elevator opened and revealed two large wooden doors with two metal doorknobs. The doorknob on the left was a large "A" and the right contained an equally large "B", standing for Alki Beach. Griffin took charge, scanned his room key, and opened the door. The crew followed him in and all of them simultaneously dropped their jaws.
The hotel room was huge and gorgeous. The floors were covered with white tile and straight ahead past the living room were sliding doors that lead to a balcony overlooking the water. Off to each side of the entrance were 5 bedrooms, all containing King sized beds, their own closets, and bathrooms. The kitchen was immaculate with all the cooking equipment needed to make a feast for the whole hotel. On the dinner table that was near the kitchen was a basket full of candy, soda, other snacks, and beach passes. There was a note inside that read, "For the iCarly team. Please enjoy these complimentary gifts and enjoy your stay!"
They were in paradise. None of them could believe that this was going to be their home for the next 3 nights.
"Oh my God," said Carly whose eyes were zooming around the room, "This is insane!"
"I never want to leave her," said Sam. "Tell Spencer we're never coming home."
"I guess dating you really has it's perks, Carly," said Griffin with a smile on his face as he put his arm around Carly.
Carly hugged him around his torso. "You gave us our biggest show at the racetrack," said Carly looking up at Griffin. "I'm glad we can repay the favor," she said as she planted a kiss on his lips.
Sam's mouth twitched as she saw Carly kiss Griffin. While she had gotten more used to their relationship, she preferred to not see them engage in physical romance if she didn't have to. It still bothered her. She was expecting plenty of flirty moments between them this whole trip so she had to try her best to keep it together.
Gibby came running out of a room he claimed as his own with a mini bottle of shampoo and conditioner. "I love this place!" he shouted.
Freddie looked down at his watch. "The sun sets in about an hour," he announced to the room. "Let's eat some of these snacks and make our way to the beach."
The group started to devour the snack basket left by the hotel. Within a few minutes, nothing was left. They then started to take after Gibby and claim rooms. Sam, Freddie, and Gibby took their own rooms while Carly, as expected, roomed with Griffin. Sam hoped Carly would be solo in a room like the rest of them, but she expected her and Griffin to take full advantage of their opportunity to share a bed. Once they situated themselves in their bedrooms, they all changed into beach attire for the sunset. The girls wore flip flops, white tank tops, and Soffe shorts. Carly's shorts were pink while Sam wore navy blue. The boys also donned flip-flops, and wore t-shirts, and athletic shorts.
They made their way down the elevator, walked through the hotel lobby, and found themselves on the beach. There were plenty of people sitting down on the sand, going for walks, and taking in the last remaining minutes of sun. Many people also had professional-grade cameras at the ready to capture the moment the sun began to set. The crew walked along the shoreline and chatted excitedly about their weekend ahead. Carly was hand in hand with Griffin and walking a few steps infront of the rest of the gang.
"Sam...Sam...SAM!" barked Freddie who was trying to capture Sam's attention even though she was walking right next to him.
"What?" Sam said in an annoyed tone who was starting at Carly and Griffin holding hands in front of her.
Freddie lowered his voice so that Carly, Griffin, and even Gibby who was right next to them couldn't hear. "You gotta stop watching Carly and Griffin," he said to Sam. "You're not going to enjoy this weekend if you stalk their every move. Just have fun."
Sam turned to Freddie with a blank stare. Freddie started to brace himself, afraid that Sam was going to hit him. To his surprise, Sam nodded in agreement. "I know, I'll do my best."
After a few more minutes of walking, it was finally time for the sun to set. They found an unoccupied area on the beach and all decided to take a seat. Again, Carly and Griffin kept the space between them and the rest of the group. Griffin sat on his butt with his arms over his knees and Carly leaned her head on his shoulder as they watched the sun go down. Sam sat between Freddie and Gibby. She tried to keep her focus on the sun but had an extreme urge to look over and watch Carly and Griffin. It was a weird feeling for her. She didn't want to see Carly and Griffin be romantic with each other, but her mind kept telling her to look.
She gave in and slowly turned her head to the side. To her surprise, she found Griffin looking back at her while Carly had her head resting on him. They made awkward eye contact and then Sam turned away, feeling uncomfortable. "That was weird," she thought to herself. She then peaked over one more time and Griffin was still looking over at her. More awkward eye contact. After a second, he turned back towards the sun.
"Did you see that?" Sam whispered to Freddie as she nudged him on his arm.
"See what?" asked Freddie who was still staring at the sun.
Sam paused. "Nothing, never mind."
As the sun continued to go down, the crew watched. Everyone was in a relaxed state except for Sam. She had a hard time enjoying the moment. As the daylight started to fade away, she peered over one last time at Carly and Griffin, who shared a kiss.
"I love you," Carly said to Griffin.
