"Wake up, Sam!" Carly said as she shook a sleeping Sam. "It's time for our girl's day!"
Sam turned away from her and grunted. "It's too early."
Carly then pulled the covers off Sam and straddled her and started shaking her. "SAM IT'S GIRLS DAY, WAKE UP!"
If anything was going to wake Sam up, having Carly Shay on top of her would be the way to do it. She was wide awake now.
"Did you have to jump on top of me?" asked Sam, trying to sound annoyed even though she was loving every second.
"Yes, I did, now get dressed, we have a spa appointment in an hour and we still need to eat breakfast."
"What about the boys?" asked Sam. She didn't really care about the boy's plans. She just wanted to prolong Carly sitting on top of her.
"They're doing some sports thing on the beach today, not really sure, don't really care," explained Carly. "Get up!"
Sam finally got up and got dressed and ready for breakfast. Both girls dressed comfortably in shorts and tank tops, eager for their spa appointment. Sam was excited for the day, but all she could think about was her interaction with Griffin last night. She wanted Carly to know that he tried to kiss her and she needed to get her hands on the security camera footage to prove it.
The day was going well. Carly and Sam ate a ton at breakfast, had a fantastic massage, got facials, and were now wrapping up the spa appointment in the jacuzzi.
"Today has been so...relaxing," said Carly as she had her head tilted back against the edge of the jacuzzi with her eyes closed. "I really needed this."
"Yeah, it's been good," added Sam. Sam wasn't typically into these sorts of activities, but she had fun, mainly because she got to spend time with Carly. She would be able to enjoy it even more if her mind wasn't racing about getting the security camera footage that hopefully showed Griffin's advances on her. "How have things been going with Griffin since the other night? It looks like you've forgiven him for being a jerk."
Carly laughed. "Yeah, he had one slip up, I'm not perfect either, so we're good...but I think I'm ready now."
"Ready for what?" Sam asked with a confused look.
"You know, ready to take that next step with him."
Sam sat up straight in the jacuzzi and accidentally let out a small gasp. "Carly, you just said less than two days ago you weren't ready," Sam tried to plead with her. "And now all of a sudden things have changed?"
"Well, yeah," responded Carly who was trying to validate her feelings. "I think I was being a bit dramatic the other night. And this trip is a perfect time to do it. We are planning on having a romantic dinner later tonight, just us two. If that goes well, then I was going to let him go for it."
"No," Sam responded as soon as Carly finished her last word. "That is not happening, Carly."
"Sam," began Carly, "I know you're just trying to protect me, but I want this."
Sam's been quite the water fountain over the past few weeks with the amount of tears she's cried and this moment was no exception. The tear ducts were being filled and she was hoping the dam didn't break and release them. Her anger helped hold them in...for now.
"Carly, trust me, you shouldn't do this," pleaded Sam.
"Why not?"
Sam paused momentarily. She didn't feel confident that Carly would believe her if she exposed Griffin for trying to kiss her. But if she didn't say anything, Carly would for sure take the next step with Griffin tonight. She wished she had her hands on the security camera film to prove it to her.
"Carly, trust me, I don't want to cause any problems on our last night, but you shouldn't."
Carly grew annoyed and was now standing in the center of the jacuzzi. "Well it sounds like you want to cause a problem, Sam." The situation was escalating very quickly. Carly wasn't an aggressive person but she had no problem defending Griffin. Especially since Sam had tried to come between them numerous times in the past, her guard was way up. "What did we talk about, Sam? What did I say about trying to get in between Griffin and me?"
Sam was conflicted. She didn't want to upset Carly and lose her friendship and any shot at being with her in the future. But Carly needed to know the truth about Griffin. Sam needed to get her hands on that footage. But what if the security cameras somehow didn't capture Griffin's attempts to kiss her? She could be risking everything by telling her about last night's events without any definitive proof.
"Carly, I'm your best friend, right?"
"As of this moment, yes."
"Can you trust me if I tell you something?"
"Go, on."
"I need to know that you're going to believe what I'm about to say."
Carly's fists began to clench and she grew louder. "You're going to say something bad about Griffin, aren't you? I told you, I will NOT tolera-"
"Griffin tried to kiss me last night." Carly's eyes grew large and her breathing became heavy. The look she gave Sam sent goosebumps down her spine, which is pretty hard to do when you're in a hundred-plus-degree jacuzzi. She looked as if she wanted to attack Sam. "Car-, Car-, Carly, I'm not lying, I'm being serious. You have to believe me. It was right before you and Freddie came out to the po-"
"I'm done with you," said a monotone Carly as she made her way out of the jacuzzi. "I have told you time and time again to stop trying to cause problems with Griffin and me. This was the last straw."
"Carly...CARLY!" yelled a teary-eyed Sam as she watched Carly grab her towel and leave the area.
