About a week had gone by since Sam and Freddie had their chat. Freddie was in much better spirits about the breakup. Sure, it still sucked losing his girlfriend of almost a year, but he could at least move on with his life now that he knew the real reason he was dumped.

Sam was in better spirits too. The breakup was a weight off of her shoulders. She didn't have to force feelings for Freddie anymore. While she still felt bad about ending things, she was happy to have his support and someone she could talk to about Carly.

Since the conversation, Freddie liked to tease Sam about Carly. His latest joke came while he and Sam were waiting for Carly at the groovy smoothie.

"What if I start dating Carly again? What would you do?" Freddie asked Sam with a laugh.

In the past, Sam wouldn't hesitate to sock Freddie with whatever object was closest to put an end to his sly remarks. But since she felt bad about dumping him and needed his advice on anything Carly related, she held back (sometimes). Sam stared at him viscously and squeezed her smoothie-filled styrofoam cup so hard that it caved in and her smoothie poured out all over the table. Freddie's smile immediately vanished as his jaw dropped and his face turned pale.

"Say it again, Benson, and see what happens."

"Say what again?" Carly asked as she made her way over to the table. Sam was so furious with Freddie's joke that she didn't even notice Carly come through the Groovy Smoothie door. "And why is there smoothie all over the table?"

Sam turned red as a lobster and froze as she looked at Carly.

"Um...uh...Sam was mad at something I said," Freddie responded, realizing he was only digging his hole deeper.

"Well, what was it?" Carly asked. "You must have made Sam pretty angry for her to strangle her smoothie."

Sam was looking at Freddie in desperation. She didn't believe that Freddie wanted to expose her, but she also knew that Freddie couldn't lie to Carly. Sam, on the other hand, was a great liar. Instead of risking Freddie blurting out her secret, Sam chimed in.

"Fredward told me that I could be less aggressive sometimes, more like my sister Melanie," Sam said while burning a hole into Freddie's face with her stare. "Right, Freddie? That's what you said?"

Melanie was Sam's identical twin sister. She didn't come around often because she was away at a fancy boarding school for straight-A students. She was there on a full scholarship. While their looks were identical, their personalities couldn't have been further apart.

"Uh...," said Freddie, so scared he couldn't remember how to speak. Sam was growing impatient and couldn't wait any longer and gave a subtle kick to Freddie's shin from under the table. Freddie perked up and held in a scream of pain before saying, "Yes...that's what I said...how dumb of me."

Carly, unsurprised about the random argument over nothing, rolled her eyes and pulled up a chair to the table. "He's not wrong Sam, you could tone it down a little from time to time. How is Melanie anyway?"

"Who cares!" Sam barked at both of them. She felt bad for taking her anger out on Carly. She didn't like talking about Melanie, but she was the one who brought it up. She had only herself to blame for the extra frustration. "I'm sorry, let's just forget it."

T-Bo, the manager of the Groovy Smoothie, walked over to the trio and saw the spilled smoothie covering the table.

"Hey man, what's your deal?" T-Bo asked Freddie.

"My deal?"

"You spilled smoothie all over my nice, clean tables!" T-Bo yelled back at Freddie. "You're gonna have to clean that up."
