Chapter 32 - Here Us Rock

"So they think the world's ending?" Katrina laughed.

"I'm glad you find this as ridiculous as I do," Laney sighed.

"Any gigs planned for today?"

"No, but that could easily change. Just text me later."

...

K - so the world's actually ending now

L - not if we stop it, which we will

K - I hope so

K - but you should tell him today

L - I know I know

K - I have to go, good luck

It's a very long day, to say the least.

The next time Katrina sees Laney is when Trina's in control and trying to destroy the world.

But Mina saving the day?

That was unexpected.

Trina gets yelled at for a good five minutes until she forces Katrina to take control.

That was a new one, being forced into control because the other half couldn't take it.

She watched as Grojband saved the world.

The best gig she's ever seen.

The very second Laney is on the ground, she's being hugged by Trina.

Or she thinks it's Trina until it clicks that only Katrina would hug her, and she nearly died and actually really needs a hug.

"You really need to stop getting into situations like this," the pink haired girl laughs.

The redhead just laughs too. "Oh well."

"Uh...Trina?" Corey said.

"It's Katrina, silly."

She hugs her brother next, for the first time in years.

Corey is surprised at first, but he does hug her back.

"So, I know I'm only just back...to you anyway, but the world did just nearly end and you do a lot of reckless things just about every day. I'm telling you right now, you should tell her how you feel."

"What? I...I don't know-"

"Nuh uh, I may not have been around you but Laney's my friend and I know how she feels about you. I also know you're not as oblivious as you act, you know she was going to tell you how she feels today if the world really was going to end."

"...yeah, you got me."

"I haven't been the best sister, but I'm starting now and I'm telling you to tell the girl how you feel about her before she screams it in your face. And I'd say now is a perfect time, so go do it."

She basically pushes him towards Laney, and watches.

...

"Uh, Lanes? You know how you said you had something to tell me?"

"Y-yeah? But I mean...we saved the world, so-"

"I like you too, Lanes. I like how you go along with my crazy plans even when you disagree with them, I like your sarcasm, I like doing gigs and songs with you. I like you so much and I don't want to wait until the world's nearly ending again to tell you."

Laney is shocked for a good second, but then she smiles. "You know how long I've been waiting to hear you say that?"

Corey pulls her in. "The wait is over."

And then the kiss they've been waiting for forever.

A happy ending.

Katrina's final scheme is a huge success.
