She was almost done.

(Name) was almost done.

The other officers and herself had been successful in apprehending the crooked individuals who were involved in Captain Morales' murder.

They had continued following down the list. Tracking down each one of them was hard. But they had justice brought down upon them like a vengeance. Not only were they charged with their own crimes, but also for their involvement in the late captain's assasination.

They wouldn't be getting out of prison anytime soon.

(Name) smiled sadly to herself. If only Miles would've worked with her on this. Everything would've been fine. The Prowler side of him would be no more. They'd go back to normal. Maybe they could even go-

'No,' she shook her head. 'He would never. Especially now.'

"I wish I never met you, mentirosa."

His words echoed through her head on the daily, but she tried to pay no mind to it.

'He might've been attracted to me at some point. But he probably never cared about me in any other way that didn't involve friendship.'

That was alright. That was okay. Nothing she could do about it now. She couldn't change his feelings or his actions.

But she could protect the innocent and provide justice. That's what she was sent here for.

Her eyes burned whilst she tried her hardest to blink back her tears.

What he said to her hurt. It really hurt.

But she had a job to do. So ignoring the searing pain in her chest, she awoke every morning with the mindset of enforcing the law onto those who trample upon it.

Glaring at one of the individuals in the cell, she slammed the barred door in his face.

'I can't believe he still remains so stubborn. You're already going to jail.'

It was mentally draining, dealing with all of these scum. But it had to be done.

She grabbed her things and made her way out of the station.

It was dark outside. She had parked in a secluded spot, and was now regretting her decision.

She quickly sped to her car, silently cursing herself for not grabbing her keys before she walked outside.

She was fumbling for her keys in her pocket. It was dark, and she felt it.

Someone was watching her.

Instinctively, she turned around and was met with a hard chest.

She hesitantly looked up when she felt something being raised to her nose.

She passed out.

When she awoke, she realized she was on a rooftop.

Her hands weren't taped, surprisingly.

She stood up and looked around. She was still in Brooklyn. Thank God.

The hairs on the back of her neck rose, she whipped her head around to be faced with the Prowler. Well, Miles really.

He had his mask off. He was just watching her intently. Eyes scanning over her weary figure.

Her breath quickened, shuddering as she spoke. "Why did you bring me he-" "You need to stop all of this. Now."

(Name) scoffed. "This is why you kidnapped me? To tell me to stop? Well newsflash honey, you don't get to tell me what to do."
