To entertain the idea of revenge is the same as to feed a tiger and tame it, in hopes that it will not someday decide to run its claws through your chest.
It's like wielding the power of god, but one choice can destroy the earth and the other can leave it be.
It's unbridled anger being allowed to run free, and the hardest thing one can do, is deny the pull to revenge.
Like a sirens song, promising many things, vengeance, justice, happiness. But it only ever delivers destruction, luring people towards a fate that can be countered by nothing, except forgiveness.
The path of forgiving is a lot like the path of revenge, but where one ends in peace and tranquility, the other ends in a pit of fiery hell.
It would be an easy choice, if not for the manipulative tactics that make you think they both end the same, and "revenge is faster."
To sink the sword into the flesh of another and expect payback is one thing.
But to feel the sharp sting of someone's sword and to simply look at them, is another.
They are silent, waiting for a counterattack, while you are waiting for them to realize.
I hope to be helpful. Sincerely, Carmen.
