"THANK YOU! Please come again!"
I courteously bowed my head at the four female customers leaving our cafe shop and started to clean up their messy table. Once I'm done with the cleaning, I helped the other employees serve the rest of the customers with their orders.
I was supposed to hang out with Mikey this blissful weekend only to be postponed because Grandma Chiyo asked me to cover one of her sick employees at the cafe. And of course, Mikey was a little upset at first but let it slide since it was a favor from my grandmother. He knew I couldn't say no to her and thus, we both decided to do it on the following day.
Ever since the two of us got together as a 'couple', we spent more time with each other and we would oftentimes go on dates. I'll also accompany him on night rides and discover new places with him for us to hang out in the future.
And to be honest, it was always fun whenever I'm with him and never once got bored. Was this what it felt like to have a boyfriend? I do like Mikey as a close friend. He was a great companion. But as a lover?
That was one thing I'm still trying to figure out myself.
Never in my life had I thought I would have a delinquent for a boyfriend. And I experienced almost all of my firsts with Mikey including my first-ever kiss. I could only hope that everything I had right now would last for a long run.
So as our relationship.
Mikey would openly tell me about how much he liked me. On the contrary, however, I can't bring myself to tell him what I truly feel. Mikey was in fact aware of it and said that he was totally fine with it as long as I accepted his feelings. He couldn't be any happier with me being his girlfriend and even started calling me using an honorific as an endearment.
"Oh my, if it isn't Ryoko-chan!"
I just finished serving another table when I saw Grandma Chiyo greet a customer who just entered the cafe. It was a slim woman with loose raven hair and a youthful face wearing a sweatshirt and pants.
The woman, Ryoko-san, bowed politely at my grandmother and gave her a warm smile. "Good day, Chiyo-san. It's been a while."
Grandma Chiyo chuckled mirthfully. "Yes, indeed it is. How are you and your boy, Keisuke-kun?"
"We're both doing good. Kei's been trying hard with his studies."
"I see, that's nice to hear for your boy. My granddaughter is also serious in her studies. As a matter of fact, she's the best in her class."
I sweatdropped. Where the hell did that come from? She didn't have to flaunt her granddaughter's academic achievements to just anybody!
It was then I noticed Ryoko-san's face lit up and her eyes twinkled with hope. Wait a damn minute. I knew that kind of expression. Why did I get a very bad feeling about this?
