Ana found Finn, just in the place where they'd agreed. The east lawns was perfectly maintained as usual, various flowerbeds filled with perfect roses amongst other flowers and the bright green grass that was cut to the perfect level was divided by paved paths. All of the paths lead to the stone fountain that had two layers and springs going from the outer lower layer, up into the top layer, creating a bit of a spectacle of itself.
"Thank you for meeting me, Ana." Finn begins.
"Of course." Ana replied. "How are you?"
"Thats kind of what I want to talk to you about..." Finn begins, and Ana could immediately tell that he was nervous about something. His hands were fidgeting and his posture seemed uncomfortable. "I'm going to just skip straight to the point. I miss you, Ana. And I know we were only together for a few months, but they were some of the best months of my life. You're just so special Ana and I'm in love with you. I know I am."
"Finn..." Ana tried to begin but was cut off.
"Ana, please. We were so good together, just please give me a second chance." Finn pleaded, turning his body completely towards Ana. "I can make you happy, I promise."
"Finn," Ana said much more strongly this time, not giving him the chance to interrupt her. "It's not that you didn't make me happy, you did. But I don't feel the same way for you, as you do me. I'm sorry but I just don't. I got tired of being alone constantly, I might've been labelled as yours, but I never really was. You've never taken responsibility for it either. You haven't learnt anything. It would just be the same, and I don't want that again. I'm sure you'll find someone else to sweep off their feet. That person just isn't me anymore." Ana sympathetically smiled, but she was really hoping that he would take on board her words.
"Ana, please, if you would just consider it. It'll be different I promise." Finn was practically begging at this point, as he grabbed Ana's forearm.
"I'm sorry Finn." Ana said as she stood up, releasing Finn's grip from her arm. "I really am."
Finn was so sweet to her when he first met Ana, she was only a few weeks into her friendship with Adora and her time at St. Edwards and they began talking. He would often visit her in her art studio while she was working, with a cup of coffee. Usually she didn't like to be disturbed while she was in her little painting bubble, but she enjoyed the company since she still felt quite lonely at St. Edwards. They would talk for hours, with him often asking her about her home country. And to say that Ana could talk about Italy for a while was the understatement of the year. Finn would often talk about his friends, never really mentioning his home life, he always went on exciting adventures with his friends and they seemed pretty inseparable.
So, it wasn't too long until Finn had asked Ana to be his girlfriend, and to begin with, Ana was overjoyed. Rather embarrassed to admit, this was Ana's first proper boyfriend, at the grand old age of 17. However, the enjoyment didn't last as not even a few weeks into their relationship that the visits stopped, as well as the coffee and most of the communication. Ana would only see Finn maybe once a week, with him always giving the excuse "sorry, I'm busy with my mates."
But Ana was patient and a kindhearted person. She always tried to see the best in people, so she focused on the good moments that she had with Finn, rather then the bad ones. But eventually it got difficult for her to see the good when there was just so few. And as she grew tired her feelings for him started to disappear, up until the very breaking point, when she finally broke up with him a few weeks ago.
Ana had finally left the east lawns, feeling Finn's stare on her the whole time.
