Your humming softly echoed throughout the small home as you folded the air-dried laundry in the living room. The tv was playing as background noise, intriguing you enough to look over every couple of minutes. Picking up a short stack of jeans, you went to the bedroom and began putting them away in their respective drawers - just barely missing the sound of the keypad beeping as the passcode was entered and the door opened.
Hyuksoo walked in quietly, expecting to see you in the living room since he could hear the tv, but you weren't there. The laundry - that was his job to do - was almost completely done, only a few items that needed to be ironed before being hunged remained. He heard the sound of a few drawers closing, followed by the soft padding of footsteps. Standing in the living room he turned, just as you entered the living room causing you to take a step back.
"You're early," you noted after calming down. "I haven't started dinner yet. What are you in the mood for?"
He stared at you for a moment before motioning to the laundry, "I thought we agreed that was my job."
"Do you want a stew? It's still pretty cold so it might help warm us up a little bit don't you think?" you avoided the question walking into the kitchen and getting a few of the base ingredients for any of the stews out.
"(y/n)..."
"You're probably really hungry and tired after a long day of filming. Come on."
He followed you as you tugged him gently, pushing him into a seat at the small dining table as you began cooking.
"I made some chamomile and passionflower teas earlier, do you want some while you wait?"
He nodded realizing he wasn't going to get anything out of you until you sat down with him. You were quite stubborn when it came to keeping secrets or information to yourself.
After heating up the tea and letting the budae jjigae that you'd decided to make simmer, you finally sat down across from him.
"Are you going to tell me why you decided to do the laundry now or do I have to keep guessing until I get it right?" he asked looking at you playfully.
"You can guess if it makes it more fun and less stressful."
Ah. There it was. The little key to the mysterious action.
He wasn't sure if you had been picking up on his mood lately - in all honestly, he didn't want you to notice how tired and stressed he was from the constant shoots and meetings. But you had. And your response was to do the one thing that would take up the most time in the house that was in charge of doing. Where on earth did he find and how had he convinced you to even give him - of all people - a shot?
"You really didn't have to," he whispered reaching for your hand and holding it gently. "I could've done it."
"I wanted to," you countered. "It wasn't a hard task to do and I had plenty of time today." A timer went off on your phone, and your face brightened. "Dinners done!"
"I hoped I'd meet someone like you for a long time," he uttered under his breath as you stood up and went to plate up the stew bringing it back before grabbing the different side dishes his mom had made and brought over earlier that week.
"What was that?" you asked placing down a small plate.
"Nothing."
"If you really want something to do, you can do the dishes later."
He smiled up at you, "Thank you."
