"So you're in a gang?" I asked Niall as we lay on my bed.
"Yeah." He said while avoiding eye contact.
"And Brian is too?"
He nodded.
"And that's why you guys hate each other?"
He nodded again.
I stood up from the bed and paced back and forth in the room as I thought about what Niall had just told me. Emily was right. I needed to stay away from Niall. He was danger; he was in a gang. Maybe what Brian had said was right? Was Niall just another bad boy who wanted my body or did he genuinely care for me?
Niall stood up and walked towards me, taking my hand into his. I pulled my hand back.
"I won't hurt you, Liv." He said as his eyes held mine.
"But Niall-"
"Listen, what Brian said back there isn't true. I'm trying to change. I'm trying to get out of this gang, but it's hard. This isn't what I want. I don't like the gang or the fights, but it's hard to stop."
"Niall, you're dangerous, I can't-"
"No, I won't hurt you."
"But you've hurt people before!" I yelled.
"Yes, but you're not going to be one of those people. You're different." He held my hand close to his chest.
"You have to trust me." He said.
