I didn't want to go to school. I didn't want to see Brian. I couldn't see Brian because if I saw Brian, then my fear would come back and I didn't want Brian to think that he scared me, even though he did.

I walked to my class alone, hoping to avoid Brian. But, then I saw Niall.

He noticed me and suddenly began to walk in my direction, when he was stopped. Brian had jumped in front of him before he could get to me.

"And where do you think you're going?" Brian asked.

"None of your business." Niall spat back.

"Listen here, Niall, you better stay away from my girl. Am I understood?"

"Listen here, Brian. You don't intimidate me." Niall said as he continued walking, but this time he headed for the classroom door; his shoulder violently pushing past Brian's.

Brian turned around and looked at me. His deep brown eyes pierced into mine.

"Go to class, babe." He said.

And that's all he needed to say in order for me to behave. I was scared of him. I was scared of my boyfriend.

I sat down next to Niall and I tired to avoid eye contact with him.

But he started a conversation.

"Why do you obey him?" Niall asked out of the blue. I pretended like I didnt hear him but he asked me again, obviuosly loud enough so that I could hear him. I turned my head and looked at him.

"Well it's kinda hard not to," I replied after a moment of silence.

"Listen, I may not know much about him, but I know he hits you and that's not okay."
