"Lila!" A familiar voice shouted from behind me in the corridor.
It was Eli, it felt like ages since we last hung out, I was so pleased to see him.
"Hey Lija" I said back walking towards him. Over the years we've made loads of random nicknames for each other, this being one of them. We embraced in a hug then continued walking.
"So, how's sixth form going" He mocked, the topic was clearly becoming a very common conversation starter asked by adults currently.
"Gooooddd...how are you finding it"I questioned matching his sarcastic tone.
"Eh it's pretty alright so far" he responded.
"Coolll, wait I totally forgot we're in the same Geography."
"Of course..hence why I found you walking the same corridor"
"Well that's a great coincidence if you ask me, because I really don't know what to expect for this subject."
"Neither" Eli replied "you know I kinda just took geography as a option because I had no clue what else to take" he grinned as we stopped and waited outside the classroom.
"Yes, yes I know very well where you would rather be right now" I giggled.Elijah has always wanted to start his own band, it was his original plan to try and go to some sort of music college to learn more about writing before hopefully then making it in the music "industry", but he wasn't a fan of working independently/as a soloist in such a new environment. So, instead he decided to just take music as an a-level with the hopes of for filling those dreams at a different time I guess. After all with his dad being Bono, his parents are very supportive of his choices, I know full well he's really talented but it's just whether he's ummm responsible..?... enough to start from scratch this young.
"Lils I've been thinking and all I can see myself doing is music, but to actually start and commit to a band I obviously need fellow people to join, unless I fancy going full Ed Sheeran with my guitar"
"haha" I laughed picturing Eli as a ginger.
"And I think it's you who's got this talent that your hiding to be in said band." Eli reasoned.
"Me, oh I don't know Lija, I'm really no where near as good and confident as you are..."
"Hey stop there, Lila I've heard you sing I mean your voice is amazing, you're talent would be wasted not even thinking about trying" he states.
"I mean it's not a definite no, for now though I'm just trying to wrap my head around this big jump to sixth form, class is definitely proving to be much harder this year"
"Yeah i guess that was bound to be happen to everyone.." Eli starts before stopping and shouting...
"Skeetz!!Over here!" He waves along to the other end of the corridor at the tall boy with bright eyes. Rob.Butterflies filled my stomach as he walked towards where we were lining up. Rob grins and greets Eli.
"Guggi Q good to see you!" Rob joked.
Elijah's parents managed to come up with a pretty funny full name for there son, this being: Elijah Bob Patricius Guggi Q Hewson! So like most people with a sense of humour teasing Eli for his name can be amusing.
I laughed at the joke, Eli rolled his eyes.
"Delilah isn't it, heard a lot about you from this gabby guy" Rob grinned.
"Shut up" Elijah retorts whilst shoving Rob.Elijah wasn't particularly short but Rob stood near him was noticeably taller, he practically towered over me and I'm 5,5.
"Are you with us, in Mr Gibbons?" I questioned Rob
"Yep, the guys a beast. Scary, but an alright teacher I guess if you get on his good side." He replied
"Yeah we had him last year for geography, let's just say him and Ryan didn't get on to well" Eli laughed.
Rob smirked at the comment, that same dreamy smirk I recognised from yesterday.A fairly short, almost stubby man stomped out from the classroom we were queuing outside of...
"Speak of the devil" Rob whispered from behind me as he began to get in the line. Sending more butterflies flying round my stomach. I smiled over my shoulder at him and we caught eyes."C'mon in year 12's, take a look at the board to find you assigned seats, please use your brains don't flutter around your not 11 year olds" Mr Gibbons stated.
As I walked in I searched for my name on the board. I quickly found Delilah Wood shown on the 4th left row. I looked to see Elijah on the row in-front and on the seat besides me it said Robert Keating. Great. I mean I'm not mad that I'm sat with the boy I've had a crush on for years, it's only he's so intimidating and it feels as if I'm at a loss for words around him.
Everyone quickly sat down in there seats and listened intently as Mr Gibbons lectured us about what not. He mainly introduced the idea that we will be recapping previous topics from our 2 years of geography from before summer for the first 6 weeks, then following that his lessons will be faster paced as we learn all the new content, apparently theres "a lot to get through". Fab more stress seemed to be piling up in my life. Some of this being due to the beautiful boy I was currently sat next to. I felt comfortable but also anxious around him. I couldn't help but notice his silver rings lining his veiny hands, he gently fiddled and fumbled with them above the table as he listened. His perfectly pointed nose had lots of freckles dotted on from the summer sun and his hair was noticeably lighter and longer than a few months ago, yet it was still neatly shaven.
Towards the lessons end we were handed worksheets. Mr Gibbons announced how he recommended "to work in you pairs as lots may be challenging to recall." I suddenly felt Robs eyes on me, I looked up to meet them. He smiled slightly and said "well we better get to it then."
As we worked through the sheet referring to each others answers I found myself relaxing and enjoying his presence. We talked mostly about the worksheet not wanting to break Mr Gibbons strict rules as he wondered around, peering over different students shoulders, after all we needed to get on his good side to find some enjoyment in his lessons. Rob wasn't only funny but also pretty smart. He even made a
comment saying "oh you're left handed cool, surely your like a kinda rare person to have red hair, blue eyes and be left handed?"
I was slightly taken aback by what he said, he had taken notice of random things about me, I mean maybe he's just a observant person but even so."Yeah I guess" I responded with a smile.
He smiled back and I couldn't help looking into his blue eyes staring back at mine. They were light and bright with a darker outline to the Iris. The connection was broken suddenly by the loud ringing of the bell. I haven't missed that sound. Everyone began to leave the classroom and me Eli and Rob walked to the canteen for lunch. Elijah grumbled about the boy he was sat next to, claiming he was annoyingly clever and obnoxious. We all laughed along to his strange re-enactments of their conversations. By the time we got to the canteen my heart was still racing from the moment in geography, I couldn't wait to tell the girls my update so we could have a good old gossip!———————————————————————————
Ahhh 3rd chapter done, I'm trying to mix up the lengths of my chapters because I feel as I'm writing the scenarios in my head I don't want to drag them on too long if you know what I mean. Hope your enjoying this story so far, it's going to be a slow burn so stick along for the ride iggg, feel free to leave comments whenever u wanttt!
