Thursday evening soon came around, I was feeling excited. Also a little nervous. After a long day at sixth form I quickly walked home and was grateful knowing that we got this Friday off because of an inset day! My worries soon turned to the stress of picking an outfit. I had no clue what to wear.

I open my wardrobe and rummage for my light blue jeans, then found my long white bandeau top. I put on my black adidas spezials and then some gold hoops. It's a pretty basic outfit but looks cool. Just then my phone pings, it's from dad..
"Sorry Lils can't make it back in time to drop you at the Hewsons tonight got a extra meeting I forgot about. Go smash it kiddo!"
That's fine I thought I will just have to leave in what..10 minutes if I wanna get there on time! Gotta hurry.
"Okay dad thanks anyway, I will say hi to the Hewsons from you x" I respond.
A classic "👍" is how my dad replies. Funny.

I touch up my makeup from the day, school air really makes me look disheveled, it's not a joke, I swear I leave the house in the morning looking pretty put together and when I get home I look such a mess. I make sure to feed Woody his dinner, as mums still at work, my older sister Quinn is at her friends and my younger brother Gus has rugby training, I don't want him going hungry. I search through the cupboard seeing if there's any snacks I could take for during practice, I don't think I need to take drinks, will I? Some Pringles and chocolate should do.

After grabbing my house keys, snacks and headphones I leave to walk to Eli's. It's about 20 minutes to his so I will probably just speed walk back later, hopefully it won't get too dark. I skim through the list of downloaded playlists on my Spotify and play the album Aurora, it's from the show I recently watched Daisy jones and the six, the songs are so good! Especially the river!

I'm just walking down Eli's road and check on my phones camera that I don't look too sweaty, after all I guess there's kinda gonna be someone there I wanna impress. He's one of the main reasons why my palms are currently sweating and why I'm feeling so nervous. I ding the bell on the front door of the house, I love the Hewson's homes, it's a really pretty. Eve, Eli's sister greets me at the door with a smile.

——For my story, the age gap between Eli and Eve is just 2 years.——

"Delilah! Long time no see, c'mon bring it in."
She gives me a big hug, Eves like a second big sister to me, even though she's closer with Quinn she's always really inclusive and fun to be around.
"Hey Eve, how are you, how's the gap year going?" I smile back.
"Good good, I'm working hard saving for some travelling, what about you, liking sixth form?"
"Yeah it's pretty tiring but I'm enjoying it."
"Aw nice, I heard you and Eli are in the same geography right?" She questioned before being cut off by the load noise of a boy shouting down the hallway.
"C'mon Eve save Lila from your quizzing we've got a band to begin" Eli says sarcastically. "Good to see you Lila!" He continues.
"Hi Lija" I respond laughing.
"I'll leave you guys to it, we should catch up sometime soon, gotta get the family gangs together."
"Yeah that would be nice, cya Eve!" I shout as Elijah drags me along the hall.

"Okay so mum said we can practice in here as long as we're not still playing by 11." He says leading me through the kitchen towards what used to be the playroom many years ago, now it's more just a chill out room with sofas. Eli opens the door and in there sits Rob and Josh tuning their guitars.

"Here's our girl" Eli says smiling as we walk into the room. He then goes to set up an amp.
"Good to see you D." Josh says smiling "I see you've come prepared with snacks." He continues nodding at the food in my hands.
"Oh, yeah thought we might get hungry. Here you can have some." I respond chucking the crisps to Josh. "Cheers D." He gratefully responds.

Rob looks up from his bass, "Hi lils" he grins, staring at me. Oh my god, did he just call me lils, I see we're on a nickname basis now.Ahh!
"Hey Rob" I respond trying to seem calm as I take off my headphones from around my neck. We continue to stare at eachother for a few seconds, Robs wearing a red and black sweatshirt with navy jeans and his classic silver rings. How can this boy make anything look so good. Did he just look me up and down?! I could have sworn he did. I can feel my cheeks burning red as his blue eyes stare into mine.
