SHE LOVES ME SHE LOVES ME NOT

Approaching the New Year, thick snow layered the grounds around us. Time seems to be flying by; it really seems like just yesterday that during one of the worst phases of my life, Cookie told me that she was pregnant, and now her due date is rapidly approaching.

It's been three months since Andre buried Rhonda, and he seems incredibly happy in his new relationship with Michelle. Cookie read him the riot act one night after Michelle came to her office earlier that afternoon to try and find out why Andre had tossed her to the side the way he did once she accepted the record deal, I'd offered her.

Okay yes, I did it out of spite, and although the girl can blow with the best of them, she only has a one album deal cuz Empire really doesn't do Gospel. Cookie told Andre that she thought he was being too hard on Michelle, and that maybe he needed to at least sit down and hear her point of view on the situation.

Low and behold, following that lil discussion, those two have been pretty much inseparable.

If only Cookie followed advice as well as she dished it out.

A month and a half ago she scared us all to damn death one day at the office. Porsha ran into my office and told me that something was wrong with Cookie and when I got to her office, she was lying on the ground passed out.

Porsha endlessly rambled about finding her that way when she came back from lunch and that she didn't know what had happened. Granted she'd been feeling really tired and vomiting three to four times a day for the two weeks prior to that incident and I'd been telling her to take time off to rest, but of course Cookie wasn't trying to hear that.

Rushing her to the hospital, Dr. Turner met us in the ER and told us it appeared that Cooks was experiencing pregnancy related anemia, which explained why she was so tired along with something called HG, which was the extreme vomiting and persistent nausea she was experiencing.

The doctor strongly recommended that she take some time off to rest or she could run the risk of having more serious complications or even losing the baby.

After everything we'd already endured there was no way I was gonna allow that to happen so on the drive back to the house after she was discharged the next day, I told her that she was being placed on immediate maternity leave and that I'd be moving back into the mansion to help her until she got better.

Needless to say, she's still cussing me out about it to this day, but after she gave all of the staff severance packages and told them that she didn't want people waiting on her hand and foot all the time, there really wasn't anyone in that big ol' house to keep an eye on her.

Of course, she protested about it being me and said that she'd just have Carol come stay with her, but Carol has her own children to care for and besides this isn't her responsibility it's mine.

Carol does come over during the days when I must go into the office but the other days I work from home. Although Cookie reluctantly agreed to take time off from Empire she still works from home on certain projects and conducts A & R meetings over the phone.

It's been far from smooth sailing, but I've been making every effort to get back into her good graces, trying to eliminate as much stress as possible, but she's definitely not making it easy for me.

Reclaiming the main master bedroom, everything was just as I'd left it because Cookie had turned the secondary master on the opposite side of the compound into her bedroom.

Lowly shimmering, the gold accented lights adorning the walls guided my path as I trudged the halls of the house. My mind's been swirling with all types of thoughts.... most of which consistently seem to center on her.
