Seated in Nobu New York, Porsha and I cracked jokes at lames passing by while we continued enjoying lunch together. I know I said that I was trying her out on a probationary basis at first, but she's truly proved herself to be invaluable, she always has my back. She came to me with the double agent idea when Anika approached her in the elevator, and I was all for it.

I see a lot of myself in her, which is why we work so well together. Today's her birthday so I promised her a girl's day out, and besides, she deserves it. As we sit in the restaurant uptown everything's going well, the atmosphere and service has been impeccable, and honestly since the wedding things have been great despite my island apprehensions.

Wiping my hands along my napkin, an unwelcome, yet familiar voice filled my ears from the entrance behind us. I adjusted in my seat and a frown immediately graced my face.

"Congratulations, Mrs. Lyon."

I scowled towards the owner of the words and mugged her down. Lawd, this bitch again, my brain screamed. What the hell she want now, I thought to myself, eyes rolling at Agent Carter's drab ass standing before me.

I smacked my lips, "Porsha girl..." Pulling a hundred-dollar bill from my purse and handing it to her, "Here take this. Go on over to the bar and get yourself a drink, I need to talk to this raggedy bitch for a second."

She happily took the money from my hand and trotted off towards the bar. I turned my attention back towards this nuisance of a woman bothering me as she sauntered around the table, then sat across from me.

"Damn Carter, you following me again or something...hell." I hissed.

"Well good to see you too Cookie." She replied. "No, we aren't following you again, but I do want to talk to you for a second, you mind?" She arrogantly quipped.

I exhaled then scoffed, "It ain't good to see your ass again and as a matter of fact I do mind, I'm kind of busy. Besides being seen up in here with you or ya flunkies ain't the best look for me."

Carter folded her hands atop the table and smirked, stating her purpose. "Yeah, I could see where your husband might get a little upset about us meeting." She sarcastically stated.

"First off we ain't meeting, you're intruding, so why you blowin' me up. I ain't got time for this today and I don't have anything to say to you cuz our business been done." I clapped back in response to her smug demeanor.

Carter pursed her lips and searched my face.  I gauged her eyes; they seem as if she has a ton on her mind but can't figure out how to come at me with whatever it is.

Perfectly manicured nails stationed along my jaw, I'm sure the look on my face ain't helping matters none either.

"Cookie I just don't understand why you won't help us bring down Lucious." Carter pleaded.

My brow scrunched. No, she didn't. Is she really coming at me with this shit again. I mean really, she has to be about the dumbest broad I've ever met.

"I don't understand why you'd marry him again knowing that he killed your cousin." She continued, hands folded together as she leaned towards me, but see now she's crossed the line.

"Aight, see you done crossed the line now. Like I told you before I don't know what you're talkin' bout, so you can get the hell outta my face with this bullshit." I huffed, "My relationship with Lucious is none of the FBI's damn business and I'd appreciate it if you'd stay the hell away from me." I howled.

See, my day was going just fine till this bitch showed up with all her bullshit.

I yanked my purse onto my shoulder and rolled my eyes at her once again. I'm getting ready to grab Porsha and head up outta her but suddenly she spoke again. "Look Cookie, whether you help me or not I'm going to bring Lucious down. I find it funny that every person who seems to have any dirt on him or could possibly bring his business down, suddenly ends up dead. I may not have been able to prove the case against him for killing your cousin, but I know that he had something to do with countless other unsolved deaths. He's a serial killer, so God knows what other skeletons he has hiding in his closet. It's only a matter of time before I find a way to prove it and when I do...." She trailed, standing, and staring me directly in my eyes, "If I find out that you were involved your daughter is gonna grow up without both of her parents."

My jaw flinched, insides boiling as my gaze smoldered against her words.

She's not only threatening my man, but my entire family and I ain't going for it. My face contorted and I tried to bore a hole into her skull with my eyes. This is gonna be a tricky situation, but her biggest mistake was letting me know that they're still watching us or is it just her ass alone.

Hmmm. I pondered, while licking my lips and adjusted my coat.

"You know what Carter, you obviously don't have anything on Lucious, which is why you're sitting up here in my face grasping for straws." I laughed. Venom spewing forth. "Huh, I wonder how your bosses would feel if they knew that you were harassing my family, making idol threats against us isn't very smart on your part and it could be detrimental to your health." I spat.

Carter exhaled, "Are you threatening me Cookie?"

"Of course not." I said with a sly smile on my face, then extended my finger into her gaze. "I just don't think that you really know who you're going up against. Keep your ass away from me and my damn family.... oh, and have a good day, it's been real." I replied, stepping around her, I called for Porsha and we exited the restaurant.

Imma get to the bottom of this shit. I think she's working alone cuz, the Feds have nothing against Lucious, and they can't even think about trying to come after him again for Bunky. Nah, this shit is a personal vendetta for her, my conscious rationalized as we got into the car and rode off down the street.

"You okay?" Porsha prodded.

"Yeah, I'm sorry about that girl. I promise I'll make it up to you." I muttered before drifting back into my own thoughts.

Killing a Federal Agent ain't a viable option, but I have to do something though...but what?

I huffed as the city scenery passed us by while we rode along the busy midafternoon streets back towards Empire.

I knew our brief bubble of happiness while away wasn't gonna last long, I had a feeling that something bad was going to happen and now here it goes.

GOD....why can't the universe just let us be happy.... it's always something.

Ain't this a bitch!!! What else could possibly go wrong......
