"Hey, take your shoes off!" Yoko practically yelled as you climbed back through the window, your clothes and hair soaking wet. As she turned around in her chair, she couldn't help but notice the expression on your face. It was a strange mixture of fear and excitement. "What's up with you."

"I- i found my soulmate." You breathed out as you kicked off your shoes and pulled your hoodie off of your body. Her mouth hung open and you could barely see her fangs as she ripped her headphones off and stood up.

"And!?" She yelled excitedly.

"And she almost killed me." You smiled, your heart skipping a beat.

It had been a week since you had seen the strange girl on the roof, and you hadn't seen her at all around the school. But luckily you did make plenty of new friends.

"Hey y/n!" Enid smiled as she and Yoko sat down on either side of you, you just smiled at her as the two of them continued their conversation.

"So, when are we going to meet this roommate of yours?" Yoko asked, adjusting the way her shades sat on her face. Enid looked around the courtyard and frowned when she didn't see who she was looking for.

"She said she would be here." She continued to look around, her brows furrowing as she continued to look at every entrance. But before long, Yoko changed the subject.

"So, y/n, tell us more about this imaginary soulmate." She joked as both she and Enid looked your way. Of course, you had told both of them that you found your soulmate, yet only Enid believed you. And it was hard to convince them otherwise when you never saw her again.

But sadly, before you had the chance to defend yourself, you heard the most agitating, grating voice on the planet. Xavier.

"Hey there new girl," he smirked as he sat across from you. His greasy hair fell into his face as he attempted to smile. You always tried to be nice to people, especially if you didn't know them that well, but with him, you weren't even going to try.

"Your face makes me nauseous." You said blankly as you squinted your eyes. Yoko just slapped her hand over her mouth and Enid let out the most maniacal cackle you had ever heard in your life.

"Very funny," he said, trying to pretend it was a joke and ignoring the fact that you were obviously dead serious. He then extended his phone, the keypad open, inviting you to put in your number.

"I would genuinely rather jump off a cliff." You sneered, your face contorting into pure disgust. This time Yoko couldn't contain her laughter and she even managed to let out a snort. You were about to come up with another insult, but that is when you saw her.

Your soulmate.

"Who is that?" You asked, looking over Xavier's shoulder. There was the girl you had seen on the roof the other night, she looked just as beautiful in the light, even more so that you can see all of her features.

"Oh, that's her!" Enid smiled, standing up. "Wednesday, come here!" As the raven-haired girl began to walk closer, Yoko waved her hand, sending Xavier away. As soon as he stood from the table and walked away, your view of her wasn't blocked, and your heart skipped a beat.

"Guys," you muttered as you made eye contact with the girl, she was still too far away to hear, but you whispered anyway. "it's her."

"Yeah, I know, it's my roommate." Enid smiled a hint of mischief in her voice. You just continued to look at the girl as she looked back at you, your heart racing. You could see her eyes narrow as she scanned your face, taking in every detail.

"No. She's my-" You said as she began to walk again, coming closer to the table. It seemed that you weren't able to get the words out, just staring at her the closer she came.

"What? She's what?" Yoko asked as the girl sat down, your eyes never leaving each other no matter how much you wanted to look away. You were mustering up the courage to answer, but she beat you to it.

"Soulmate. I'm her soulmate."

"Holy shit!" Enid practically yelled as she slammed the door to your room shut, all four of you rushing in there by her demand. After Wednesday had revealed that the two of you were soulmates, Enid practically broke down and wanted to immediately go somewhere private.

"I'm not sure why you are having such a strong reaction," Wednesday muttered coldly as she stood in the middle of the room, her braids falling neatly. Enid just turned on her heels and looked at the girl sternly.

"I'm having this reaction because the two of you are perfect for each other, obvi." She just pointed between you and the statuesque girl, Yoko standing silent. "I mean, of course, you're soulmates, but still, it's perfect!"

"Yeah, that's kind of like the whole point," You laughed, trying to change the subject quickly. Wednesday did make you nervous, especially because you have now only seen her twice, and you've never even spoken to each other directly.

As you spoke, her gaze turned from you to Enid, and you couldn't help but blush. It was stupid, and you knew that, but you couldn't help it. The only time you had seen her other than right now, you almost fell to your death.

"I have to admit," she started, walking closer to you, the other girls in the room holding their breath. "I never thought I would actually have a soulmate, but I certainly never thought she would be..."

There was a heavy silence in the room, your heart beating faster than it ever had in your entire life.

"Would be?" Enid asked, trying to get Wednesday to finish her sentence. But before the dark girl was able to continue, there was a loud knock on the door, all of you freezing. Before any of you could act, the door swung open, and a familiar figure walked in.

"Mother?"

"y/n."
