Adam and Julie had been in the trailer, the past two days, living off of whatever their capture dropped through their roof hatch. If it was Bartholomew who had gotten them, he didn't want to show himself. Every two hours, he'd pull over and let them use the washroom. It was like they were animals. As they drove on, they'd sit in the trailer, sore with blisters from the not-so-soft metal floor. "I don't know about you, but I think we should escape here." Julie managed.
"I've been trying to think of plans for the past two days. I got five." Adam offered. Julie nodded. "One, we open the back door and jump, but that would hurt. Two, we go out the roof and jump, but that's no better. Three, we try escaping while we have a pee break, but that's risky. They'd probably catch us. Four, we go out the roof hatch, go in through the truck roof hatch, clobber the driver in the head, and escape. But that could result in a crash. And five, we see where they're taking us."
"I say we see where they're taking us. We don't know why they want us. And if it is Bartholomew, he might have Mable and Alex too." She decided. Adam nodded and they continued to sit, quietly. The trailer came to a stop, and Adam managed to stand up and look outside. Outside, was a large lab a lot like the one they were in when there were caught, but it wasn't under a rockslide. Around the lab, was a large forest and no mountains in sight. "I think we've reached our destination." Adam stated. Julie groaned and got to her feet. She tried to walk, but she stumbled, and Adam caught her. He helped her to stand and as they looked around outside, the trailer door opened. "Come on." A man behind a mask demanded. He kind of sounded like Darth Vader from Star Wars, but Adam didn't have the energy to make a joke about it. They followed the man and he led them into the lab, and into a room that was completely empty except for a bare mattress on the ground. "You sleep there. Now stay until my boss gives you further orders." He demanded.
"Who's your boss?" Julie choked.
"Bartholomew Rithers." He sighed. Adam filled with pure anger. Of all people, that was the last person he wanted to be kidnapped by.
Julie collapsed on the bed and groaned. Adam sat beside her, as the man walked away. "How're you feeling?" Adam worried.
"Okay..." she managed. When they tossed Julie in the trailer, she woke up and tried fighting back. They kicked her in the stomach, and she fell to the ground and landed on a sharp rock in the trailer floor. The cut was pretty deep, but she was tough enough to fight through.
She leaned against Adam and as she closed her eyes, she fell asleep. Adam was completely exhausted, and in pain too, but he had to stay strong and protect Julie. Not only would Alex kill him if she didn't make it back alive, but he hadn't got his kiss yet. He carefully set her head on the pillow of the mattress and he leaned against the wall, doing his best to stay awake.
Suddenly, he heard a crackle from his pocket, and he reached inside to feel his walkie-talkie. He grabbed it, with shaking hands and contacted Alex and Mable. "W-were alive!" He breathed. His throat felt weak. Maybe there was a way for them to find him and Julie. He laid his head down beside Julie's and fell asleep as soon as his head settled in the pillow.
