Alex's heart raced. They were alive. What would she and Mable do? That wasn't enough! Alex's head dropped into her hands, and she sobbed. What would she do with that information? Mable hopped over to her side and hugged her. "We're going to find them! We know they're alive. Isn't that enough?" She comforted. Alex nodded and sniffled. Mable grabbed the walkie-talkie and tried for another response. Nothing. Alex bit her lip and held back tears. "I think I know someone who could help." She suggested. Mable nodded, excitedly.
"Thanks for coming, Josh." Alex sniffled. Beside her, stood a teen about five inches taller than Adam and a year or two older than Alex. He had brown hair covered by a toque, and wore a plaid shirt with jeans. Mable looked like a toddler compared to him. "Anything for you, babe. It's all because of you that my brother's back." He replied.
"Is he as tall as you, because I'm feeling pretty intimidated." Mable squeaked. The three giggled softly and then their faces straightened. "So, on the way over here, I was thinking. Your sister's boyfriend found that guys lab on the internet, right? Maybe we could see if there's any others they could be at." He offered.
"First of all, they aren't boyfriend and girlfriend—at least not yet— and second, there are tons. Do you really think we could check all of them?" Mable corrected. Alex could tell that Mable wasn't so fond of Josh. "Mable, I'm not sure what else we can do. They could be anywhere. The labs are our best bet." Alex reasoned. Mable glared at Josh, and he wore a confused look. Mable nodded, and Alex grabbed her phone to look up some labs nearby. Her eyes glinted with excitement. "There's one only an hour from here!" She exclaimed.
"Then what are we waiting for? Let's drive!" Mable shouted. They grabbed some things to take for the trip and ran to the truck. "I'll drive." Josh volunteered.
"I've been driving for three years, I got this." Mable assured him.
"Aren't you, like, twelve?" Josh asked, confused.
"Josh! She's nineteen!" Alex corrected. Josh wore a look that said he was completely confused, and Mable wore a smirk.
Mable hopped in the drivers seat and Alex sat in the back with Josh. Alex gave directions, and they were on their way. Julie and Adam would be saved.
