~ALICE'S POV~
"I want to go home" I slam my head on the cafeteria table. It's a rainy day today I do not want to be at school.
"I thought you hated being at home?" Ricky laughs at the end of the table. He's sitting beside Archy and Graham. I'm not close with them but they're in my classes as well as my friends, so we hang out sometimes.
"She's bipolar leave my girl alone." Luna steals an Oreo from my lunch.
"I am not." I slap her hand, the Oreo falling on the table.
"Hey! My Oreo!" Luna quickly grabs the Oreo shoving it into her mouth. I roll my eyes. That's low-key disgusting.
Everyone goes back to talking when I hear Nolan and his friends walk up to my table. I turn my head and give him a questioning look.
"Aly don't look at me like that." He scuffs.
"I wanted to let you know you can take the car after school. I have basketball practice and I'm getting a ride from Lucas." He throws the keys at me.
"You sure? I can wait for you." I reply.
He shakes his head. "I know you hate waiting so Im giving you this one chance to leave early. Take it or leave it ig." I smirk.
"I'll take it. Thank you." I turn back to my friends.
"Hey turn back around I wasn't finished." Nolan crosses his arms as I turn around slowly. "What?"
"You are to go straight home. I have your location so don't even think about going anywhere." He points his finger at me.
I put my hands up in surrender. "Okay okay chill."
Just before Nolan is about to leave Hazel speaks up. "I wouldn't trust her with the keys." I look at her confused.
"What?" Nolan and I say at the same time.
"She wants to go home. She might leave right now." She says with a smirk.
I sigh. She's not wrong. But I wasn't even planning on it. She's just giving me ideas.
Nolan glares at me. "And you're going to class. I don't care what the excuse is. You better leave when you're supposed to."
I nod again putting the keys in my backpack. Nolan leaves and I'm finishing up my lunch.
"Seriously Hazel I wasn't even planning on it." I glare at her. "Sorry I didn't want you leaving me in chemistry." She smiles sheepishly.
I laugh shaking my head.
||~*~*~||
I'm sitting in chemistry beside Hazel practically falling asleep. This class is so boring the only thing keeping me going is the fact I get to leave in 40 minutes.
"MILLER." I jump up in my seat when I hear Mr. Mendel yell. I look up at him. "Yes?"
"Pay attention or you're getting a wonderful spot in detention." Without speaking back I nod my head letting him go back to the lesson.
I've gotten detention from him before and let's just say I don't want detention again. Not because I hate dentition, but because my brothers grounded me over the weekend because of it. Mr Mendel threatens me with detention at least twice a week. It's getting ridiculous.
Hazel nudges my shoulder. I look at her. "Take those notes down, I know he's going to check them as an exit ticket." She nods to the whiteboard with writing all over it.
"Are you serious there's so much stuff to write down. Im not doing it." I whisper back. "Then have dentition." Hazel says pensively.
"Fine." I say grabbing my pen and writing down a whole lot of gibberish.
I really don't understand chemistry. I cheat my way through the course.
Finally the period is over and I get up to leave. Mr Mendel is in fact checking for notes. Lucky I did mine and I get out easily.
Hazel puts her arm over my shoulders. "You're welcome lovely." I laugh leaning my head on her arm.
"Thank you." I say back and we begin walking to her locker so she can grab her gym clothes.
"I would seriously go home if I could." I lean against the other lockers as Hazel goes through hers.
"You should've token gym with Eleanor and I. It's so much better than advanced functions." She turns her head to look at me before closing her locker.
"I know but too late." I wanted to take gym but I also didn't want to disappoint Grayson. He has high expectations for me and I don't want to disappoint him.
I sigh when I see Graham walking towards us. "That's my queue. Work time." I roll my eyes when Graham laughs at me.
"Ready for math." Graham walking closer to Hazel and I.
"Absolutely not." I reply back.
"Okay well I've got to go. I'll see you later." Hazel and I say goodbye and I begin walking with Graham to our class.
"So did you do the homework?" Graham asks hesitantly.
"Uh yea I did.. you?" I ask walking faster so we can get to class.
"Uh yea I did." I give him a quick smile and walk into the classroom.
I take my usual spot at the back of the class and Graham sits in the seat closets to mine.
I can't wait to sleep when I get home. I want to block today out.
