~ ALICES POV ~

The next morning was rough. My whole body ached from head to toe. Somehow every pain in my body got worse over night.

I made some tea to take with me to school to help ease the pain I'd have to hide for 6 hours.

"You don't look good." Victoria says sitting down at the cafeteria table.

"Thanks." I say effortlessly.

"Do you guys want to go to the mall of Friday?" Luna asks as she opens her bottle of juice.

"Sure I'd love too!" Victoria smiles across the table.

"Aly and so say sure too." Eleanor says from beside me.

"I didn't say-" Eleanor places her finger on my lips.

"Shush." She smiles which makes me roll my eyes.

"I guess I'll go too." Hazel shrugs smiling.

"Okay good because I need to get new clothes and I need your help." Luna sighs putting her head on Hazels shoulder.

"Wow and you don't want mine?" Victoria says sarcastically. "No she doesn't." I yawn putting my head down on the table.

"Luna is very strict with who helps her with clothes." Eleanor goes to rub my back but stops when i wince. I need to learn how to not wince from pain.

"Are you okay?" Eleanor lowers her voice so no one else hears even though they're stuck in a conversation.

"I'm fine. Just sore." I sit back up.

"From what?" Eleanor ask.

Not thinking a blurt out the first thing I think of. "Running."

Eleanor starts laughing so loud everyone around our table goes quiet to stare.

"You? Running?" She laughs in between each word.

"I though I'd never hear you say that." She looks at me shocked.

"It was with Bentley." I say quickly before she suspects something.

"He ran and I had to chase him." I say shoving food into my mouth.

"Okay that makes sense." She laughs again. "I was going to say.. you running? For fun? That's crazy." Eleanor says.

"That's why you're laughing so damn loud?" Victoria says annoyed.

I exchange a glance at Eleanor. "Oh! I'm so sorry Princess." Eleanor says as she puts her hands up in surrender. "Don't kill me." She says sarcastically at Victoria.

Victoria rolls her eyes and throws a French fry at Eleanor.

||~*~*~||

I'm sitting at the bleachers in the gym after school waiting for Nolan to be done with Basketball practice.

I lay my back against the wall as I read my book, trying to distract myself from the pain I'm feeling today.

Soon I hear the whistle which means practice is over. I glance up from my book, I see Nolan drinking his water and looking at me.

"I'll be another 10 minutes! I need to shower!" He smiles before turning away and running to the locker room.

I let out an exhausted sigh before looking back down at my book. About five minutes later I hear someone walking up the bleachers.

I look up and see Graham. Great.

"Stayed after school to watch me play? I'm flattered." He mocks as he walks closer.

I roll my eyes. "In your dreams." I reply looking back down to the page in my book.

"You know sometimes I can't tell if you're trying to be a flirt or if you're just actually annoying." He sits down across from me and leans close to my face.

"Have you ever thought that maybe you're the annoying one?" I say not looking up at him.

"Funny." He says sternly.

"What are you reading?" He grabs the book from my hands.

"Okay what the hell! Leave me alone!" I yell as I finally look at him. Our faces inches away.

"Woah chill." He laughs. His laugh isn't cute. It's absolutely disgusting.

Graham changed ever since I found out he's a player. He went from nice to ugly within an instant.

"Fantasy romance?" He laughs mockingly. "You're really a nerd Lis." He looks into my eyes after examining my book.

I glare at him. "Don't call me that." I don't know why but I got angry when he said that.

"Why not?" He asks leaning in closer. But the closer he leans in the further away I move.

"Is that what your mommy called you before she died?" He pouts his lips which just makes me want to punch him in the face.

"Get away from me." I say sternly not braking the eye contact. But he doesn't move.

"She said get away!" I hear a familiar voice. Nolan.

"And I was just doing so." Graham drops my book into my hands losing the page I was on. He looks down at me as he walks away.

I close my eyes to control my anger when I hear Nolan walking closer to me. I open my eyes and put my bookmark in a similar spot it was before, hoping it's close to the page I was originally on.

"I swear I'll beat him up if he does that again." Nolan helps me up and grabs my backpack.

"I can take that." I say holding my hand out towards the backpack.

"No you're already in pain. I've got it." I stand there confused.

"Hazel told me you were having cramps. Don't worry I can hold your backpack." He begins walking away.

"What do you mean Hazel told you?" I ask.

"She saw me in the halls and told me you weren't feeling good. Assuming it was cramps." Nolan looks at me and continues walking.

I start walking beside him as we walk to the car.
