Part 5 - new girl

~ ALICE'S POV ~

I walk into class with Ricky and Luna. We sit down at our usual table near the window.

"Hi Ricky!" I look over to see a girl with long brunette hair sit down in the seat beside Ricky.

"Hi Victoria." He gives her a fast hug and then turns toward Luna and I.

"Victoria this is Aly and Luna." He points to both of us.

"Uh it's Alice." I give her a small smile and she gives me a questioning look.

"Only certain people call her Aly. She prefers Alice." Luna says awkwardly answering Victorias questioning look.

I don't like when people outside of my friends and family call me Aly. I don't really like Ricky saying it either but I don't want to be rude to him. At least Victorias new so she hasn't known me enough to think of me as rude.

"Why is that?" She asks suddenly.

"Uh-" I get cut off.

"Okay class enough chatting let's begin." Mrs Noel speaks cutting off my sentence.

I'm glad for it. I really don't know what I was going to tell Victoria.

I clear my throat and begin taking notes.

"Her names Victoria." Luna finishes introducing Victoria to our friends during lunch.

"It's nice to meet you." Hazel smiles from beside me as Victoria and Luna sit beside Eleanor.

A notification sound comes from Victorias phone across the table and she smiles once she opens it.

"Who's making you blush at this hour?" Eleanor teases as she drinks her coffee.

Victoria laughs. "Oh sorry, it's one of my friends from my old school." Eleanor laughs, "friend?"

Victoria smiles. "He asked me to attend a party this weekend. And to bring my friends." I snort not realizing. "Sorry." We're already her so called friends.

"What so funny?" Victoria asks.

"Oh nothing, I just won't be able to go." I try covering it up.

"Why not?" She asks again.

"She has overprotective brothers" Luna chimes in eating an Oreo.

"What about your dad? Surely your brothers don't make your decisions." She snorts.

My face stills. "Actually they do."

Eleanor quickly changes the topic. "Uhm what time is the party?"

Victoria smiles, "it's tomorrow night. 12 o'clock sharp."

"What's tomorrow night?" I look behind me to see Nolan and his friends.

"Just a party." Victoria looks up at my brother.

Nolan quickly looks down at me. "Don't even think about sneaking out."

I roll my eyes, "I wasn't thinking about anything."

Nolan glares at me and walks away.

"Damn you were not wrong." Victoria laughs and eats some of her food.

I look to see Elenor get up. "I need to use the washroom. Alice come on."

I get up confused and walk beside her.

She doesn't speak until we're in the hallway. "Okay I know she's new and maybe a little out there but Aly you need to be less... harsh."

We walk into the washroom and thank god it's empty. I lean against the wall and sigh. "Sorry everything's just been weird today."

"Don't apologize Aly. Life's not easy." She fixes her hair in the mirror.

"Should I dye my hair blonde?" I laugh and walk up to her.

"No." I smile through the mirror.

"Fine." She laughs and we begin walking out of the washroom.

"Also.." Eleanor slowly stops walking to face me.

"Im not going to the party tomorrow. If you're not. Im not." She reassures me and I hug her.

"Elle you don't have too. Go have fun." I nudge her shoulder and we begin walking.

"No I'd prefer to hang out at your house and beat all your brothers in just dance." We both laugh walking to the Cafeteria.

"I'm sure they'd prefer it too." I role my eyes laughing as we begin walking to the cafeteria table with the other girls.

Once we sit down Victoria is gone. "Where's Victoria?" I ask.

Hazel looks up at me. "Her so called friend from her old school called her. She went outside to answer."

I nod slowly. Thinking of old friends I suddenly remember Ivan.

"Hey earth to Alice!" Luna waves her arms in my face.

"Huh?"

"You zoned out as I was telling you about Archy!" She laughs.

"Oh sorry." I laugh too shoving the thought of Ivan away.
