Part 48 - letting this happen

~ IVANS POV ~

Throughout the week, Alice has been coming over after school. We've watched a lot of movies and she's baked a lot with my mom.

I always look forward to seeing her everyday. Alice goes back to school tomorrow and I'm worried for her. I don't want her near Victoria or Graham ever again.

I haven't talked to Josh about anything yet either. And I don't want to. He was my best friend and he sided with the wrong people. 

I've considered transferring to Alice's school multiple times, but I don't want to push any boundaries. I want to be there for her. But I also have to respect what she wants.

"I'm going to see Aly." I say to Amaya who's sitting on the couch.

"Okay. She's at Graysons house right?" She asks as I put my shoes on.

"Yes." I reply. I grab my car keys as I head out the front door.

I turn on my car and begin driving out of the driveway.

Ever since Lis and I kissed I haven't been able to stop thinking about it. As much as I want to kiss her again I can't. Not unless she wants it too. I don't want to rush things.

She has a lot going on so I'm waiting until she's ready. I'll always wait for Lis.

"Hi!" Lis gets up from the couch and hugs me. She wraps her arms around my neck as I wrap my arms around her waist.

"Hey, how are you feeling?" I ask as I pull away.

"I'm okay. What about you?" She asks sitting back on the couch.

"I'm good." I smile at her. "You're very happy today. What's up?" I move a strand of her hair out of her face.

She's genuinely smiling. I cant help but smile too.

"I bought her McDonald's." Grayson walks into the living with Harper. I quickly move my hand away from her face.

"Can we watch Spider-Man?" Grayson grabs the remote before any of us can answer.

"Yes!" Lis grabs the nearest blanket and wraps it around her bare legs. "If you get cold we can share. But you look pretty warm." She pokes my leg with her finger.

I chuckle. I'm wearing a basic shirt and some sweatpants. Lis on the other hand is wearing shorts and a graphic T-shirt.

"Grayson can you grab my chicken nuggets." Lis asks laying down.

Grayson turns to give her a look. "You can get up yourself."

"No I can't." She whines from beside me. "I'll get them." I laugh as I get up.

"you're my favourite!" Lis says as I walk to the kitchen. I find her chicken nuggets sitting on the kitchen counter.

As I grab them, I see Grayson walk into the kitchen. He goes into his cupboard and grabs two water bottles. "Can you fill this one up for Aly?" Grayson hands me the pink water bottle.

I nod as I put some ice and water into the cup. Grayson does the same with the other bottle. I'm assuming it's for Harper.

"Ivan.." Grayson sighs as he turns to look at me. "As much as I hate to admit it, I can tell how much comfort and happiness you bring to Aly." For some reason I fight the urge to smile. Im glad I can be the comfort Lis needs.
